Hey, I'm not 'awkward quiet' (seriously), but I just never enjoyed being the center of attention or the loudest in a group. I go out a lot and have my share of female interaction but the advice here is largely promoting that you must be incredibly outspoken and loud to get anywhere, which I simply do not agree with.

I have been here for a long time, a year come October, I have improved greatly and now consider myself to be intermediate at this sort of stuff but I can't help but think what's holding me back is the nature of my character: On one hand I don't want to change what is in fact a large part of who I am, I have been described as a "silent charmer who should talk more", but part of this charm is in fact the fact that I don't talk as much as the average joe, which makes my subtle dry humor come out of left field (hence her remark). On the other hand, maybe being louder would improve my game more but I just don't feel comfortable acting that sort of way, and being congruent is important right?

tl;dr conflicted.
