It seems like newbies overdo the power posing in an effort to commit the poses and behavior to personality, until they learn congruence. So it takes experience to both learn and then learn when to relax. This article helps ya learn how to relax after opening, when you can, but you must still learn congruence here as well.

Power pose and They don't ask for anything come to mind specifically.

I try to give off a decent enough frame at every first interaction. Until they've proven to me that they're equivalent then they are not going to get me to submit. Yes if I'm meeting Nelson fucking Mandela I'll give an inch but meeting some random girl at a bar? Yeah there won't be too much "leaning in" by me.

As for "don't ask for anything" kinda bullshit except the last line of this paragraph. Social folks generally are value givers and not takers but "not asking for anything" that's retarded. Understanding whether they will or won't do something for you will help guide you first of all and second of all, getting a girl to do something for you(e.g. holding onto onto an item for you, telling them to wait for you, etc..) helps make them justify that they actually like you too.

After going back to the article again, it seems this is related to business situations. I'd agree on that front but I think it should be modified if used for attracting girls.

Saw this article. Yahoo articles are terrible - they're written by lazy writers and are based on anecdotes.

For instance - "They Lose the Power Pose" is complete bullshit. 95% of likeable people keep a sturdy, powerful pose. The other 5% are so well rounded in other things and carry their charisma and maintain a purely alpha attitude in other ways that their posture and stature doesn't matter. Unless you've got the rest of everything covered, you might as well keep a sturdy, strong power pose.

Different situations require different things. If you're trying to get to know someone and genuinely desire friendship, great stuff. If you are trying to get the lay, it's all fine and dandy, but you need to establish you're not submissive. Source: Me being very likable, but very beta for most of my life.

This is interdasting, this idea of "social Jiu-Jitsu" refers to a topic covered in heavy detail by the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People". If you like this passage, you should definitely check this book out.

Thanks Morgan Freeman. I used to be so fucking "on" all the time, always trying to be professional, always trying to find best ways of doing things, but then I got bored and tired, stopped taking everything so seriously, I became more genuine and spontaneous and things worked out even better. But the hard thing about giving up all your rules is if you don´t follow the set of rules and the observations you make in your life, then how can you get better at anything? And I don´t know how, but it seems to work out.
