Has Tyler changed at all since The Game?

From what I've heard, Style and Tyler Durden have made up. I know that Style has spoken at some of Tyler's seminars. I believe that their disagreements and his portrayal of Tyler Durden in "The Game" was affected by their living situation. Basically Style and Tyler are not compatible roommates, but they can get along fine.

Short answer, Yes and No - Yes because he's figured out how to be a better Marketer, how to have people consider him and his crew the, "Rock Stars" of the community, how to make sure all of his coaches talk about having 15 girlfriends when most of the guys who are amazing that I know realize statements like that are probably stretching the truth quite a lot to market more than to talk about reality.

However, I am sure his success level is probably pretty much no better than it was in the game, and I am sure that his inner attitude is probably the same as well.

However x2 - That being said, I like 2 things about TD and co.

1 - They seem to motivate guys into wanting to get better and succeed.

2 - They are part of the "Old School" in the community, and have been around almost as long as Mystery. That sort of speaks positively to me because now adays a ton of coaches or outfits are popping onto the scene teaching TERRIBLE Tech/Ideals like, "GET HER NUMBER!" or That being a dancing monkey during the daytime and getting a phone number that will likely be a flake (though they don't tell you this) is solid game.

At LEAST RSD has seemed to remember what the hell this game is all about and that is, Getting Laid.

The one thing they do, that really annoys me, though, is their very try-hard attempts to both Be in the Community but Separate themselves from the community. That part of it, is silly marketing. "Look at us! We're so cool. We teach seduction and pick up. But those other guys that teach seduction and pick up are not cool and creepy."

He has changed ALOT. Nobody likes him if you just base it on the game. He's portrayed pretty damn negatively. The game is mad old.

I thought the exact same. When I read the game he came off as this manipulative character. I just couldn't stand him or Jefferies. But after having recently finding his videos, I really like the guy.

It is fiction that needed a villain, pretty much that simple. The game is a book made for entertainment.

Owen is a human being. Human beings have good aspects, and bad aspects. Personally, I think he offers a lot more good than bad, but I'm biased because I really love RSD's material.

Hey everyone in here...guess what! If you are smiling at other people you can be considered to be manipulative on account that you are trying to elicit a reaction. Chill out with the whole tyler is manipulative stuff. He's a good motivator and should probably be compensated for going and doing where and what others haven't.

He's obviously changed, but this reminds me of an episode of Pickup Podcast that Neil Strauss was on. He basically pointed out that if your main concern is the life and times of a PUA as opposed to getting better at this stuff, then you are really missing the point of seduction. Who cares. Are you different than you were a year ago? Are you a better person? Are you better at game? Why does the lifestyle of someone else affect you one way or another?

But, to answer your question, I think this answers it better than most things.

He's managed to convince some that he's not the guy he was in The Game. Either that he never was or that he's changed, but one should understand that his living is based on being liked. When he was around the guys in The Game, he was being himself. When he presents himself to people at workshops or in public, he's gaming people to either give him money or improve social status. I think when no one's looking, he's exactly the same guy as described in the book.
