I've used it for years off and on, got a few good relationships out of it and made a few friends. That being said for the amount of effort put it, i don't get enough on there where as i get at least one number every night i go out. OKcupid constantly barraged my self esteem with dating. I quit using it and am much happier for it.

I use OKCupid, POF, and Tinder from time to time. I have met some quality women on it before, but there is definitely a lot to sort thru. Ultimately its just a conduit for connecting with people. However I prefer approaching people in public when possible as I feel its easier to meet higher quality women that way.

It is a crock of shit unless you are a chick.... I spent months and never got past a few written exchanges. Match, OK cupid, and POF. Waste of time. Starting learning a second language instead.

In my opinion, it's a horrible waste of time. I spent hours perfecting my profile and never got a date (and I'm rated 9/10 by girls on the site on average). Then I manned up, approached women and got tons of dates quickly.

Online dating can be incredibly useful if you're using it right. New girl every week level if you know how to utilize it.

Sounds like you need better pictures and a more interesting profile, with an emphasis on quality pictures.

No return on your time investment? Don't blame the system. Blame yourself.

by the way, english is not my native language.

long answer: i'm not a PUA at all, still learning, but in my experience it's just a waste of time, most of them are attention whores and nothing else. ofc you are able to find someone that is willing to go out with you, but mostly it's just a numbers game. before i was able to go out and just approach women on the street or night game, online dating was my "game". just go out and approach, it's somehow the same numbers game, but you will be more successfull and learn alot and you get more social and confident. just take it from me, i had some sick AA, i even had AA to chat on online dating (maybe because i was fat and ugly, now i'm jacked and good looking) and now i just can go to some random girl and approach her, it's hella fun, just do it and don't waste time with online dating.

Here's my shit rolls downhill theory: all the quality girls (looks and sanity) are out there having the time of their lives. Guess where the shitty ones end up? I mean, I'm generalizing here, but the point is made that most girls who go online are fed up with guys in real life. They hope that another channel is going to provide them access to high quality guys at a low low price of nothing.

I'm sorry, but just as guys have to put in the time and effort, so do girls. If you think online is some magical solution, you are in for a rude awakening. That said, there are few diamonds in the rough. But be prepared to swim through some shit to get to them. A lot more shit if you had just went to an event, a bar, or god forbid, a night club.

I found it very useful, but it was completely useless until I was older than 25. At that age range women one's own age are still largely "out having fun" and not looking for a relationship, and women older are generally not looking for younger guys. That was my experience, at least.

Since you've been on OkCupid, I assume you've read the OkCupid blog and used My best face to choose your profile pics?

I wouldn't rely on it by your only means of dating, but it does help during the winter months and during the work week. Keep practicing social interaction outside, approaching every one and chatting, this will help immensely if you do happen to meet up. Worked for me. Have fun and good luck!

Source. Current girl I am talking too is from Okcupid even though I have met plenty of girls outside that site.

I'd say it's definitely higher effort than other forms, but you can def get some rewards out of it. I'd think of it as another channel to meet people, but I wouldn't want to consider it my primary one.

People can be way too picky and superficial up front. I'm not a particularly handsome man, so I'd much rather sell myself in person where I can be funny and interesting.

Unless you have great pictures you're not gonna have much success. I myself have pictures, not great at all since I don't take many.. Just not my thing but I'm going to start making it a habit, always good to have pictures to look back on and not be boring, great conversations also when you show the girl you're talking to at a bar or something.

Despite not having great pictures I still get some responses and had a date and a few possible ones who flaked. So it's very different, much more effort and personally I rather not. However it's a good way for some fun when you're too busy to go out, etc. Most of the time when I'm out and spend just about 5 minutes with a girl I can already make them comfortable enough for them to flirt with me and really enjoy my company, however online is very difficult imo. It is easier to talk since you can think about what you want to say/respond with so I still continue to have fun with online apps/sites because it does allow me to learn what to say and sometimes I come up with good come backs and funny things to say which I could use later. It develops your texting/conversational skills just like approaching a lot in person improves your skills also. Not a replacement but for sure an addition that helps. Sometimes I do run into a girl who has great texting skills, those are fun. But I prefer in person > online for sure.

It's a low investment method, slightly high start up though since you need to get a nice set of pics and a decent profile. After that you can either prowl around looking for girls that catch your interest or do that like thing and just like EVERYONE; the women are picky so they'll do the first bit of filtering. If they catch your interest message them, otherwise don't bother.

I tried it and put lots of work into some good and some terrible messages, I eventually learnt it isn't worth it. Short of not sending completely lewd messages effort stops paying off as efficiently.

I've had some luck with OKcupid and a little with Tinder. I used cupid years ago and just started using Tinder and my success on Tinder hasn't been too bad.
