So I was talking to this girl today about school, work, life, etc. We get onto the topic of hobbies and things we like to do in our spare time. She lets it slip that she has a "secret passion for photography", so I ask her what she does in photography. Crickets.

After some BS stammering from her, I ask what her hobbies are. The response? "Umm, I like, y'know, go out with friends, school, just normal stuff" She literally does nothing productive in her spare time, just socializing and consuming mass media.

I suppose that the more I understand TRP, the more I realize that the world isn't the way I used to see it. It's a lot less 'magical' than I first believed as a teenager, but now I realize ways I can use the world to my advantage.
