(This is my first post on reddit ever, so if I do something stupid or against the rules call me out on it and I'll try to fix it ASAP)

I'm still getting used to the whole Red Pill state of mind, and there are points where I'm wondering whether my response to a certain scenario is appropriate or not. I'll give an example of a stupid situation that happened to me yesterday and how I responded.

I was eating dinner with two girls and three dudes and we were all talking about TV. One of the girls who knew I was pretty good with technology asked me if I could fix her TV so she could watch movies on it again. As someone who's spent the last month or so immersing myself into TRP, the first thing that popped into my head is "she's trying to use you" or "she's trying to thrust you into a provider role," and so I responded with something like "Well, what are you going to do for me in return?"

She responded with something like "I'll give you the gift of my presence" jokingly and then it went off topic from there and she didn't bring it up again, but it's just been something that's been going through my head. Was I being a dick by not helping her with something that would have been simple for me? Or did I do the right thing by not giving in? I'm not asking because I care about this particular interaction, or even this girl in general, but I want some advice as to how I should approach situations where a girl asks for a favor like this in the future.

As a reference, if a girl were to ask me something like that a few months ago, I probably would have run straight to her place to fix it.
