Point blank man, put yourself out there more. You yourself stated you know where they are but you don't want to go there? You expect them to come to you?! reading isn't exactly a hobby. Find a good one. Try a cooking class. Try an outdoor activity. Go to a music festival.

Compromise your stance and you'll be surprised.

You still need to cruise the bars to practice talking to girls. Otherwise, even if you meet some gamer chick, you'll still turn her off if you have no idea what to do

Uh.. you can either go to bars, discos or pubs and NOT drink or NOT drive. I.e. either don't drink heavily OR get a designated driver/taxi/driving service. It's not complicated.

Also if you know crowded place and have the self-confidence, you can go there i.e. public transport, mall, eatery, even grocery store.

As to like-minded, I don't really think there are women out there who don't listen to music, read or have an awareness of videogames. Are you like a hardcore gamer? The only rare thing is 'playing music' but unless you're looking to form a band, I don't see why you'd be seeking a woman who plays music. Maybe walk around with your instrument (the musical one) and strike up conversations that way--or strum a tune for a pretty lady and just say you had to do it.

But yeah man, women are where women are. You may think 'everywhere' isn't a good suggestion, but it's really the best one. As a fellow STEM I encourage you to think logically and in the parallel. i.e. "Where are like-minded men?" No special congregation but we go out, we go places, we buy food, etc. And women do the same thing.

TL;DR try walking around with your instrument and baiting conversation or strumming a tune--or even try going to park and strumming (not like a Bum but like a practicing musician.)

Also consider doing performances at little shin dings. I mean--if you are confident enough.

Hey! No expert either, but if you want to meet like-minded people (including girls), I think you should go to places where you can carry out your hobbies in a social way. If you like music, go to concerts or join your college's music club. If you like reading, go to a bookshop or a café. I'm not really into videogames, so I can't come up with a cool place, but I'm sure there must be one (maybe online?). Every hobby attracts girls and boys in its own way, you just haven't met them yet. I study a STEM degree as well, but come on! There's always time! ;)

Keep focusing on yourself man, set some goals for yourself and go out and accomplish those goals. The relationships will come naturally and the right relationships will come out of it. Try not to force anything and just be yourself, that way you will find that someone out there that wants you for who you really are and not the person that is out looking out of desperation. Hope this helps.

Sup bro, im (22m) no expert, but iv had about 4 relationships. Honestly the only thing i can figure, is that the more skillfull u get in your own feild, hobbys, exc, the more attractive u will become to women. Aside of course of physical looks, which also should be handled. Go be the best u that u can be and dont fret about women. The right one will come to you at the right time. Just be ready to go after her when she does come.
