These type of questions scream, "I care what others think of me. I don't want others to think less of me."
Always be authentic. Always be honest. Always be fully accepting and confident of yourself.
When you play that game, it doesn't matter what comes out of your mouth. You'll win and you'll attract equally attractive people.
Liars, game-players, insecure men attract the worst type of girls.
Don't play that game.
PS: You have a self-esteem issue.

Great advice.
As long as you don't care about your age, neither will the girls. They might be surprised, but if they are attracted to you, they won't care.
Don't show hesitation when they ask your age, that shows insecurity.
No need to tell them your age, that just shows that you're insecure about it. Let it come up naturally in conversation. If they ask, you simply answer it like you would any other question.

This mindset applies to about you caring about anything, and they won't care if you don't.

Dude, I'm 49 and dating women in their early 30s (32 & 33) and they really don't care much about age. They probably won't even notice. If they do, they are probably shit testing you, either be comfortable and own it, or exaggerate and tease them. Either way, it's not a problem!

"How old are you?"
"I can't keep track, it changes every year"

HER: How old are you? ME: At least 10 years older than you...
This is a great line I use all the time. It kills the question, and she doesn't need to hear that I am actually 20+ years older than her.
Almost always settles the issue with the girl.

Why does it matter?

I'm in a worst situation but yeah. I just learned that know its not important to mention. Just carry yourself right.

If they ask, of course.
Sometimes it's worth joking around "I'm old enough" etc or better yet, ask "How old do you think I am?".
It can lead to some fun banter.
I was out with an 18 yo recently who asked how old I was. I asked her "How old do you think I am?". She says "Um... like...early 20s?". I gestured "higher". She acted shocked and asked "Mid 20s"?". I gestured higher again. She asked "No way...you're under 30 right?". I said "Nope" and gave her my age.
She said "Wow I thought you were mid 20s. Like 28 or 29".
I then caller her out and said "28 or 29 is not mid 20s. I can tell you're into older guys anyway, creep ;)".

Just say your age, it will come up eventually and if you lie now it will be harder to extricate yourself out of the lie later.
Don't try to justify your age either one way or the other. People ask ages because it helps them gauge personality. Remember people have different life stages and its pretty consistent overall for most. The more dishonest you are, the worse off you will be later.

LOL Always Always Always https://daygamersbible.wordpress.com/2018/04/23/why-you-should-always-guess-young/ guess their age young!
Guessing their age young helps pre-empt them asking you your age because they will assume you usually date girls younger than them. Try it.

You don't want to be the one actively worrying about this. If its important for a girl to know your age, let her worry about asking you.
Also, 18 & 24 isn't a big gap. I'm 27 and currently am in an open relationship with a girl that just turned 18. When we started she was 17.
I also read a post that was put up just today on this sub about a 40 year old professor having sex with a bunch of models probably in their early 20s.
Girls don't really worry about a guy being older than them.
