Is it just me or are there too many men in bars and clubs?

Lots of girls purposefully never go places drunk guys looking to pick someone up hang out anymore unless they're with guys themselves in a group or looking to get picked up and fought over.

The kinds of guys who are there, angry, and hostile are the guys women are mostly trying to avoid permanently now.

I've always said that bars and clubs are like a real life version of tinder, when it comes to meeting girls - an unfavourable male to female ratio, thirsty guys, too much competition and the best looking guys being chosen by the girls.

I hate the places.

I think it depends on the are but I’ve also noticed the ratio. Most times it seems like girls at clubs are already taken or are with a guy. I prefer not to approach those and have an ego fight.

I used to love clubs like six years ago. At this point, I can't stand them. You have to pay to get in, not guaranteed to have much fun, so it always just feels like a sunk cost. For the most part it's super loud so people aren't really going there to be social. They're dancing with their friends, or their boyfriend, or tinder date.

The only time I still go to clubs are on event nights. That's when the general party crowd shows up. Bring your crew, have a good time.

I still really like bars though. I feel like on any given night that I go to a bar (Thurs-Sat) there's a decent ratio of women to men (of course there are more guys, but that's whatever). Girls come to the bar to be social. A lot of the time, they could be with guys but more often than not, they're with their friends and as long as you're comfortable opening a set with 3+ girls consistently, it isn't all that big of a deal.

Of course, it also depends on where you live. I live in NYC for example.

I'm 29 and I've also watched a decline, even my sister and her friends brought it up.

I was a regular in a club where it was always close to 50/50, it closed ofc...

I moved on to artsy or underground bars & parties. There tend to be abit more girls and less aggressive dudes. Still lots more men but it's doable.

Also keep moving, look for new places, girls know when a club or bar has gone to shit and will stop going there.

On bad nights there are 90% dudes. But once in a while when the stars align, right time, right place I guess, there are 70% girls.

I'm not really sure what it used to be like given that I've only been going to bars for 6 years now, but I thought they were always like that? I also live in NYC so I don't really understand the question or shock at this.
