I‘m asking this on here instead of /r/relationship_advice because let‘s face it, they don't really understand attraction.

So this is somewhat depressing, but I‘v e lost my virginity at 25. I‘ve had to painfully learn how to be attractive, how to overcome my disthymia, my depression, my fucked up relationships with people, and my extreme anxiety to get where I am today, and I‘m proud of that. Naturally, I feel like a bit of a broken person due to this. That phase is what I consider my "deep dark secret“ I can never talk to anyone about. I‘ve been with the girl I‘ve lost my virginity to since then, and I‘m very happy.

If I want to have a future with her, I want to be open about my weaknesses and my failings. However, I feel like I could never tell her anything that would make me look like anything less than her unfallible rock. This leads me to feel really isolated in this relationship. She doesn‘t know she was the one who deflowered me, and she has no idea about how much of a sad person I used to be. I‘m scared to open up even just a little bit out of fear that she would lose all attraction to me, but I also don‘t want her to never know the real me.

What do you guys do? Are you honest about your shortcomings to your women? Do you open up at all? What should I do?
