One of the biggest things I like about men is their ability to treat me like a person. I like connecting. I like well timed humour, and intelligent conversation. That's how I want to be treated. So why do so many men think that making crass comments about my body will work?!

One guy asked me out, and I said, sure, just not until after the holidays, because I'm quarantining so I don't bring anything to my high risk parents. After Thanksgiving, I posted a video of me playing piano on my Instagram story, and he replied "trying not to focus on those double D's."

I had gone out with a different guy TWICE. I decided I wasn't feeling it, and was trying to slowly wean him off of me. He then texted me saying that he had a steamy dream about me that started with skinny dipping.

I had another guy ask me if I was a teacher, and when I said yes, he asked to give me a hug, and put his hands on my butt. He grabbed my phone, and put his number in it, and I was so flabbergasted, I didn't even have a chance to say no. I ghosted him, and he later tried to catfish me, (poorly, because I knew it was him) and he started asking me about my breast size, and commenting on my butt.

These are just a few of the stories that express what I've had to deal with, and I'm just wondering what these men are possibly hoping to accomplish by making these rude comments. I'm a person, I'm intelligent, and I'm confident, so what makes these men think it's okay to talk to me like that? I would have given a bunch of them a chance if they had treated me more appropriately, but they lost any semblance of a chance when they started treating me as an object. I always want to ask, "Does that really work on actual human women?" What gives?! What is the motivation behind comments like that?!
