Hey my dudes, gonna just dump my thoughts into here so hopefully it's legible. I have really struggled in the past with low self-esteem, low confidence, anxiety and depression. But I've been in a long term relationship before, slept with a couple girls and am apparently a pretty good looking dude. I have a tendency to be a bit of a hermit, so I'm currently trying to train myself to be more of a social human being and simultaneously get into day game.

To set the scene, my University is still mostly online due to COVID, but I have one class that I have to attend every fortnight. So I planned that after that class I would walk around my campus and I would approach at least one girl I found attractive. I actually planned to do this last time I was there but I bitched out, made excuses and didn't do it. However, I did approach a couple classmates that week while waiting for it to start (1 girl, 1 guy), made some platonic small talk and kind of recruited them into our little class group so I took that as a win. Anyway, as I was walking around this time I let probably two or three opportunities go in about 5 - 10 minutes of walking (I find I struggle with the idea of stopping someone that's walking). It was getting pretty late in the after noon at that point and people were heading home, so I was internally like "fuuuuuck, I'm going to run out of opportunities if I don't hurry up". Then I spot a girl, not model hot but pretty cute, sitting down by herself with earphones in. So I just thought "fuck it I'm going".

I start walking at her and before my brain could come up with excuses, I sit down on the opposite side of the table from her and with a confident smile on my face (It's funny that the anxiety is mostly gone at this point) I say "hey, you're pretty cute so I thought I'd come say hello". Her eyes kind of lit up and she said something like "awww thank you, that's so nice. I actually saw you walk past before". I think I said something cheeky like "oh were you checking me out?" - It worked, she basically admitted she was. I can't remember the exact sequence of events, but we exchanged names, shook hands. I teased her about trying to cover up a drawing that she was working on with her phone. She revealed it and I said it looks much better than what I could do, I can basically only draw stick men. We talked for like 5 minutes about what majors we were doing, what age (she was 19, "but im turning 20 soon so that helps" - she was qualifying to my age), what suburb we live in, what we do for work. I weaved some banter and conversation in-between the questions so it didn't come across as an interrogation. Then I said "well I should get your number then" (or something similar) and she handed me her phone with her contact info on screen (she got a new number and couldn't remember it) and I transcribed the deets into mine - success. I said I better head home and she had to go to class so we walked together for about a minute while chatting. I remember that she said she was impressed that I had the confidence to come up to her and I said yea it's harder than it looks with a bit of a laugh. Then with a smiley farewell we split ways.

Overall, I got the number but honestly, I'm just really proud of myself for doing it and don't even care if it will work out or not.
