It depends on the woman and the dog, if it were to be a random individual for both I would choose the woman. Let's be honest, even the most feminist woman would surrender to traditional gender roles at these times and therefore would be collaborative, woke women only feel empowered when everything that is basic for survival has already been guaranteed by men, which is not the case of the scenario proposed in the post

Depends. Some women won't do any work and will reduce my survival chances more than a well trained German shepherd that could help me hunt. What's the food situation like? Dogs can't survive on just berries like people. Rarely a person (maybe this woman) has bushcraft skills. Average woman/dog we'd both end up dead.

Average dog is too domesticated to survive in the wilds just like the average person. You'd need big game and to be in a temperate climate without the tools to make a permanent shelter that could protect your fire from winds. One of the issues with alone is that contestants are not allowed to eat certain animals and can't leave their areas. Without these constraints it's possible to find more berries and food but you'd still need hunting weapons. Probably the average woman and hope she's not in her 70s.

If it's literally a random woman vs a dog, a woman easily. You can't assume the dog is even trained whatsoever, much less a hunting dog. For all you know you could get a dog that doesn't know how to do anything but bark at useless shit but then shuts up and flees when an actual threat is around. At least a woman can be trusted in a literal do-or-die situation to at least try, self evident by human evolutionary history.

I would rather have the women, as she can help build shelter, gather berries, make sure the fire doesn't go out, etc. Dog is sorta just another mouth to feed and hydrate.
