I agree with every point she makes, but those are nothing compared to one sided standards regarding:

Reproductive rights. (A woman has reproductive rights, a man has reproductive responsibilities).

Biases in child custody which of course goes hand in hand with child.

The biggest double standard and main reason I’ve never married however is that marriage and family law is essentially one-sided. It’s about a man committing to provide for a woman with no guarantee of anything in return and the man paying an enormous financial penalty if this commitment ends. If a wife refuses to go back to work, the man can’t do anything about it, to refuse to support her is financial abuse. The woman of course has no obligation to have sex with her husband, do house chores, etc. This in my opinion is much more impactful than anything she mentioned.

Women who cry are emotional. Men who cry are weak.

I'm not really sure what can be done with this one. I do think men need safe places to be emotional. Over my life, I've had tight nit friends or groups (all men) where we'd get things out, have a bunch of tears, and support each other. I know better than to do that in front of my wife though.

In my view, you can't negotiate attraction/chemistry. You can't choose to be attracted to someone. About all you can do is spend time with someone and see if any attraction/chemistry develops and you can try to modify your own behavior to increase the chances of trigging attraction in the other person.

A man being overly emotional triggers "the ick" in women similar to how morbid obesity often is a complete turn off to many men. In generations past, mothers would teach their daughters to stay fit and doll themselves up to maximize their chances of landing the best guy they could. Fathers taught their sons to be stoic to maximize his attractiveness and chances of landing a woman.

If that theory is true, you're never going to get to a point where it's ok for men to be overly emotional in public like how no matter what the body positivity movement does, it's never going to convince many men to somehow be attracted to morbid obese women. All it's accomplished is we're all pretending instead of facing reality.

We shouldn't shame people their weight or men for being emotional. I can get on board with that.

So where does that leave us? Probably a big thing that would help is if we just educated more men to be skeptical of a woman's tears because they often learn being able to conjure tears is a great way to manipulate most men into getting what she wants.

So while I agree with her, the whole idea of double standards is something that mensrights should actually **agree with.

Well all push back on the idea of men and women being equal. Men and women are not equal. So why is same-standard (as opposed to double standards) the underlying premise here?

We should have double standards unless it damages equal-opportunity, equal dignity or equal rights.

Change your framework.
