Just swap the genders- would it be OK to demonise women for the actions of some female predators? Of course not. Saddens me that this shit gets upvoted. Would they accuse those who choose woman of making excuses for female predators? Of course not.

And it’s interesting she mentions “by partners or other male family members” because I guarantee that if you asked her about her partner/family member v bear she’d pick her partner/family member.

She accuses men of doubling down and making excuses for predators… simply for saying that most men are safer than a bear. That’s not making excuses for predators- that’s just saying don’t assume a man is guilty by default if you wouldn’t do the same for a woman. I thought these people wanted equality? Yet they’re holding men and women to different standards- one group are guilty until they prove their innocence, the other are presumed innocent unless they indicate otherwise.

The last part looks like an in-your-face lie, as in known by the speaker/writer to be false. 'If you are upset,' seems to stand in conflict with, 'men like you who make excuses for them.' Ignorantio elenchi maybe or just an instrumental accusation (argument to shame).

Next, if women were murdered by partners or other male family members (aren't rapes also usually by people the victim already knows), a stranger doesn't fit in the crowd, so the statistic doesn't even apply to him, before you consider the proportion in 50K out of how many million?

'Make it impossible for women to feel safe in any given situation?' — who does that, I wonder? Apart from misandrist propaganda, perhaps quite a lot of people need to see a therapist about their anxieties and fears.

Even if I believed her statistic, that's roughly 0.0014% of the world's population of women. Can we just get a grip on reality? Yes, clearly that's still too much and we should be trying to reduce. But is that rate really enough to treat all men as criminals? Why men? What percent of those perpetrators are bald? Or have blond hair? Or grew eyes? Or a mole on their left cheek? Ffs blaming this shit on gender is stupid, as if a gender determines one's choices. And if it does, should we be drawing conclusions about women?

The use of statistics by these people is so funny to me, assumimg half of fatalities are women: 500k women die annually in car crashes, and these people are afraid of the usual dude who would most likely help her in a situation rather than be the one to rape her
