As a freshly 21 year old guy, when the woman I'm talking to is >25, sooner or later there comes a point in conversation where one of us (usually her) asks 'how old are you?'. I answer honestly and ask them back, they often invite me to guess and I lowball as one would (they honestly do look that young to me), then despite showing interest up until that point they usually bail soon after.

The other night, for instance, I approached a woman dancing alone on the dance floor. Conversation was going great, lots of teasing, she draped this weird diamond-studded boa/belt party thing she had around my neck and took my hand. Then age came up; she was 27. Even though conversation never lulled, she pretty quickly took the boa/belt back and told me 'I'll be back' (she wouldn't).

What can I say when age comes up to be more charming? Those who have experience pulling older women, how do you do it?
