It is unfortunate that something as influential like religion has succumbed to this whole "market towards the mom, win the whole family's $$$!" strategy.

All religious texts have a fair degree of RP. Even some of the religious texts like the Qu'ran or historical texts like the Shah'nameh (Iranian history/mythology of ancient kings) are actually very dedicated to showing positive female examples and negative female examples. The most revered female characters are both submissive / feminine AND able to think critically and use their intelligence to excel in their roles as wife and mother - for example Asiyah, the wife of the Pharoah in the Quran, is actually very independent. She resists societal expectations and saves Moses's life by taking him in, because her faith tells her its the right thing to do even though it burdens her tremendously.

The bible is a true patriarchal story - it's a series of "patriarchs" and how the created a society and established value systems that kept people safe in the desert. This is why despite thinking organized religion is for betas, I think the bible is one of the most interesting things to read. It's breaks down how men create shit and women empower men to create shit, but IF this simple dichotomy gets broken up too much, everything turns to shit. For example if the dudes start fucking, the division of labor and power balance between men and women changes, so therefore God can't let the men fuck each other. If dudes are jerking off all the time then marrying and raising kids, as well as working to grow the colony, is hampered.

Naturally when you get into religion you're going to get a system where a few RP dudes are pillaging a world full of BP families. A few RP dudes on the top and actually incentivised to keep espousing BP ideologies, because that's what keeps the churches full. Convince a mom to come to church, you get the dad and kids and extended family. Give the mom the "feels", she elbows her man until he drops a few notes in the donation basket.

But in the past where it was more likely that any given civilization would die out and failure was the default, if you didn't have RP up in your philosophy, you were FUCKED and whatever was left of your tribe would get pillaged by another, starve to death, or best case dissolve into a bunch of nomads / hunter-gather minigroups.

Regarding Eph 5:25 a we're told to love our wives "like Christ loved the church. "That's not a synonym for "a lot". How does Christ love the Church?

In my denomination, we learn that Christ is our prophet, priest, and king. As prophet, He teaches us. As priest, He redeemed us and prays for us. As king, He protects us and tames our rebelliousness.

I can't imagine Jesus simpering and hoping His bride will like Him. He's not like that.

I went to church too, but it being a Russian church the pastor spent half an hour talking about how women who were undermining their husbands authority were chopping down the very ladder they stood on, and wives willfully disobeying their husbands was the reason why their kids refused to listen to them.

It hasn't always been this way. When I was a kid most sermons were about hell and fire. Men in these times were the kind where the women obeyed and respected the man. Looked up to him. He had a firm hand that was also gentle. Less and less of these men are left. They died off or are not going. The message has changed. Women are left to run the church. Where it use to be men who did this job or that job in the church women have replaced them.

I recommend you read No More Christian Nice Guy. It explains what's going on. Seems to paint it in a RP way to me. If you go to church read it.

I too went to services this past Sunday and thankfully did not hear that garbage.

The service (not to be all preachy but show comparison) was about the priest and his mother, wherein, she asked him "What is the strongest part of the human body" and eventually the answer was revealed to be our (note i said OUR, a gender neutral term) shoulders.

that a mom will always be there for their kids and their shoulders are there for you when you need them. No BP BS, nothing.

in fact, i recall going to fathers day services a year prior and they were i would say MORE preachy towards fathers being "shepherds to the family flock"

We've talked about it before: religion was created to maintain civility, and keep betas from lashing against alphas. But, because of this, religion was created by alphas for betas.
