South Korea, men have to serve in the military, instead of a iota of gratitude from Korean women or the South Korean government they're accused of being rapists by Korean feminists and they constantly tell foreigners South Korean men are the worst in the world.

It’s funny when occasioanllly someone will post here saying how “oh men have every right” , or “ what are mens rights activists even fighting for?”.

It really shows how they have done no research into this subject or even bothered to take an honest look at society.

Still boggles my mind how women think they are the oppressed ones when their are laws that specifically target men such as the draft ones. Like it sounds full on dystopian.

Imagine reading a fantasy book where elves are socially allowed to hit and berate ogres, ogres are expected to provide for them and if they want companionship to literally kneel to ask them for it, are forced to be soldiers for elves if a war happens and ogres are told "happy elves happy life" then the elves claim they are the oppressed ones. Like when you remove the word man and woman it sounds straight up evil brainwashing of one group to serve the other.

Translated into the language of 'rights'

Suicide:

The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Article 12.1: “the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health”

Circumcision:

The right to bodily autotomy and physical integrity, and freedom from violence

Inequality in divorce courts, child custody cases, child support:

The right to be free from discrimination, the right to be free from forced labour

Men's rape often overlooked, 1 in 6 men have an unwanted sexual interaction

The right to be free from violence, the right to have violations of rights addressed

False accusations easily believed (guilty before proven innocent)

The right to a fair trial, the right to be free from arbitrary detention

Equal treatment by the education system

The right to an education (International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Articles 13 and 14 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child Articles 28 and 29).

Right to refuse parental responsibility

In terms of specifically rights, we are missing;

Bodily autonomy (the draft)

The right to vote (draft again)

The right to choose (circumcision)

The right to know (paternity testing not mandatory)

The right to leave, since women want the right to kill (good luck not paying child support)

The right to be a parent (In many states the woman is default caregiver and the man has next to/ has no rights to the child if she doesn't acknowledge him)

If a man and woman have sex and make a baby. The man basically has no say so to keep or abort the baby. I understand that the woman is carrying it, but still. The man’s opinion doesn’t matter unless the girl wants the man’s opinion. And f course if the woman decides to keep the baby the man will be held financially responsible. Dave Chappell did a joke about this but it was true.

look i agree here its just some of these are social wants or privileges not rights. harmful stereotypes is a social issue, you dont have a "right" to not be seen suspiciously, general discrimination as well. later retirement ages are because men usually work longer, you dont have a right to retire. you have the privilege to do so.

false accusations is yet another social issue, as are suicide rates. self defence is extremely dependent on who you are defending from and where you are. some countries have no self defense laws, albeit defending yourself if attacked should be a human right, unfortunately it is not a recognized one.

its not that i disagree, i just feel were painting with too wide a brush here, there are plenty of "rights" men dont have. if anything its less the rights men lack and more the social consequence of treating women on a pedestal by default.

I feel like some of these are just societal issues that every gender faces like the unrealistic body stereotypes, harmful generalisations and stereotypes, also in terms of the homeless shelters the reasoning behind that is because of how frequently women and children are abused in regular homeless shelters

I agree with everything. The only thing I wanted to add was that unless you got someone pregnant because u got Sa'ed or someone sabotage your protection (condoms), then I do believe that anyone who has willingly participated in sex whether protected or especially when unprotected, that both parties need to take responsibility for the child created, especially in places were abortion isn't allowed, it wouldn't exactly be fair to say that men can just opt out but women can't. Especially if the sex was unprotected, that's just extra risky. Adults should just realise that sex is risky and can result in pregnancy. Just one of the risk factors of sex.

That's just my personal opinion on sex in between consenting adults, not looking at it as a gendered issue.

Circumstances matter too- such as SA cases, cases involving adult women and minor boys, and obviously tricking someone into pregnancy (lying about BC) or sabotaging condoms.

As for everything else, you're spot on and we definitely need more DV shelters for men, mental health support programs, better systems in place for homeless men as men are the larger population living on the streets, and more fair systems in court, etc.

Well... you're treading into dangerous waters, here. "False accusations [not being] easily believed" isn't a right, it's a matter of social attitudes. The line between them isn't exactly clear- having an attack on your person overlooked because the attacker was female is a pretty clear example of that- and both are bad things, but they're not the same thing.

Likewise higher suicide rates. That's unquestionably a men's issue, but harsh as it sounds, what is suicide but the ultimate personal right, to decide when to stop living? The problem there is the underlying issues that make life so miserable you feel you have no choice BUT to end it.
