Had two polar opposite situations the week and I'm trying to find the right balance between not being needy and not being standoffish:

  • Girl I took out for a date who was all over me. She kept texting me the next day, but then when I messaged her to hang out again, she was clearly turned off by it and lost interest in me, I would assume because I seemed too into her. I encounter her in my day-to-day life too and also tried to strike up some conversations with her - still friendly but clearly lost a lot of interest from the day after the date.

  • Girl who struck up a conversation with me, asked for my Instagram and gave me a ride to where I was going + was dropping hints the entire time. I was still thrown off from the previous experience and didn't want to seem eager, so I figured we'd just connect on Insta instead of also asking for her a date on the spot, but she clearly took it as me being disinterested and lost interest.

Both of these were the exact opposite approach but ended with the same result, which is the girl going from super into me to having little interest in me.

I know I need to strike a balance between these in the future, but I honestly don't know where to start. This doesn't come too easy to me, because I always feel like when I do show interest, girls lose interest. But when I try to play it cool, they don't think I'm interested and also lose interest.
