I understand how to have a conversation on a date, but I'm really struggling with how to do this with cold approach.

Besides my first couple cold approaches, every conversation I'm having ends as a lame interview-style conversation.

I understand the advice about making assumptions or statements and focusing on topics that have to do with feelings, but when I do that, I get an answer and then don't know where to take it from there.

A few examples:

- I opened a woman at a bus stop by saying she looked really bored. She laughed and said "yes, I am" but then couldn't take it anywhere and went back to questions.

- Opened a woman by asking why everyone has the same bag as her. We talked for 1 minute about this and she was laughing but then once that topic died, I had nothing else to say and just asked questions, and it died.

- Today, I was just at a festival and opened a woman, but it became another really lame interview-style interaction. Complimented her, asked where she was from, what she was doing at the festival, etc. I never saw a point where I could take the conversation anywhere interesting. I got her number but already know there was no emotional investment.
