The major problem is that feminists will manipulate the wording to define their own narrative. When a heterosexual man rapes a woman, it is not because of misogyny or hostile sexism, it is because he is mentally ill, violent and only sexually attracted to women. That is also true when a husband assaults his wife or a jaded man assaults women who rejected him. The defining factor here isn't a view of women as a gender but rather a drive for sexual gratification/power/revenge that is a reflection of their sexuality. If a rapist was attracted to men, he would be raping men. If a lesbian woman attacks her partner, it's not because she hates women, it's because all of her partners are going to be women.

On the other hand, there are a lot of men who are killed or assaulted specifically because they are men. Most of the police brutality cases happened to men, because those police officers are predisposed to be more violent, or be okay with violence, against men. When men are assaulted/killed, in situation where a woman would have been spared or ignored, those are situations where men are specifically targeted for being men.. In situations where men are punished with far more severity or prejudice, because they are men, that is a situation where those men were targeted for their gender.

So, you have this definition of hostile sexism towards women which is grossly overstated and a definition of hostile sexism towards men which is grossly understated.

This idea (that porn leads to behaviour) looks to be another instance of the "hypodermic needle model of media influence", anything that counters that will likely also counter this.

Feminists (and the like) seem to struggle with "correlation does not equal causation" almost as much as "per capita". 🤣

I think the better way to go is to ignore complaints from Feminists, as they rarely have evidence to prove most of the things they say. And the reason for that is, they don't care about reason. They only care about taking down the Patriarchy.

So, there's no need to provide evidence of their assertion because what they're saying is nonsensical. They have no scientific method to prove their case, so it's dead in the water from the start.

Let's look at relationships where sexual violence occurs, in order of most prevalence:

Lesbian relationships
Heterosexual relationships
Gay relationships

Lesbians top the chart.

Strange how there aren't any men in those relationships, yet the sexual violence is there in greater amounts.

I don't think we need to debunk this. We are interested in rejecting the patriarchal interpretation of society and the "men enforcing patriarchy" interpretation of rape. The fact that rapists are more sexist than average could be interpreted to provide evidence for that claim. It could be used to claim that these men are taught to be sexist by toxic male norms and perpetrate rape to keep women in their place. However, it could also be interpreted to emphasize how different rapists are from the rest of us. That is, they are more sexist than the rest of us - surely that's not evidence that they're a product of norms?

Also, just because they are sexist that doesn't mean they are motivated by it. Child abusers aren't motivated by a hatred of children. Rapists often have a rap sheet as long as your arm, so it's possible that they are just generally horrible and violent people. The fact that they are also sexist doesn't mean they are motivated by a general desire to subordinate women.

Finally, there's also plenty of evidence that rapists have been sexually abused as children especially by women (this twitter account https://x.com/FemCondition, which is actually run by a feminist, collates a lot of it). That could be the origin of both their sexism and the trauma that makes them rape (the same is true for female sex offenders btw https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6463078/ ).

TL;DR it wouldn't surprise me that rapists are sexist, but by itself that doesn't mean feminist claims about rape are accurate.
