Suppose you are staying at a hostel. You meet a girl and she seems really into you. But even before meeting her you realize the stuff at the hostel think you are a rapist and are treating you as such. They have someone outside the bathrooms and each time you go to pee or shower he or she stares at you like a psycho. You feel threatened but also you feel guilty. You feel constantly watched and accused. You take a knife to cut your fruit and immediately the stuff react and look at you like you have some malicious intent.

Obviously you want to prove your innocense. The best way to do that is not go near girls, don't talk to girls, mind your own business. And if you talk to someone, keep it polite, friendly, respectful and don't express any sexual interest by asking them out for example or paying a compliment.

But... You really like that girl you met. How do you maintain the appearance of innocence while flirting? How do you deal with the constant psycho stares? How can you make yourself feel relaxed and confident and not self-conscious and guilty?

If I tell myself that "I'm not doing anything wrong" I feel defensive and this is not a good feeling to carry into an interaction.
