I know it’s easier said than done, especially when you’ve just had your world upended.

…you must advocate for yourselves. A lot of us speak from a place of hopelessness and pain. Pain at seeing our families and traditions ground into nothing, pain at the thought of our kids waking up or going to bed asking where’s dad… these things are real, yes, but we need to do a better job at standing up for ourselves.

Too often I see men literally ready to pack up everything and leave their own kids behind just because their spouse wants to experience other partners or not be married anymore.

The general theme is that I’ll give her everything because she’s the mother of my kids. Kids need fathers as well, what good are you mentally if your living stressed out of your mind all because you did not want to make your ex angry or upset? That is literally Stockholm syndrome.

Snap out of it, you’re worth something as well. Split things down the middle, your kids deserve to see you well adjusted and mentally stable; quit giving away your life energy to your exs to make their lives comfortable while you suffer - it makes zero sense. They are no longer your spouse, your duty is not to them anymore.

I’m not suggesting that you be selfish, petty or any of those negative habits, not at all but simply to see that you are worth something. You may have been called every name in the book as your marriage failed, mocked, jeered, belittled etc. You’re none of those things. Tired of seeing so many men wallow in despair and ruin.
