I saw an analogy on a YT video that I don't think I'll ever forget. He mentioned how men go to jail for failing to pay child support. He said there should be a law where if women get married and they fail to take care of their family and/or break the marriage contract, they should go to prison. After all, fair IS fair, right? Of course, this will never happen in our lifetimes, but it makes sense.

One year of jail can also be substituted for community time, but the perpetrator will likely spend certain time in prison until the verdict (either temporary prison, or home imprisonment) so the court is likely to uphold that penalty in order to avoid giving the perpetrators and their lawyers the chance to extort the money out of the state. In most cases, they sentence the perpetrator to the exact penalty they were already imprisoned to avoid these payments and they are released as soon as the verdict is given.

However, in this case and the perpetrator will likely be able to claim about 5 months worth of jail time from the taxpayer because she spent 17 months in prison (if the information in the article is correct). But she's likely going to spend as much to the legal expenses so it may not be even worth starting such claim because the higher court(s) can always increase the penalty and make such payment invalid in the end.

In either case, it signifies the way courts work and justice is NOT what courts are all about, it's more about legal procedures and practices, along with corruption and bias of the judges who make such verdicts. In this particular case, though, I'd say the main issue is not only feminism and the so-called pussy-pass practice, but a general practice that's established with women and girls being given very light or no penalties at all for numerous grave offenses, downplaying or voiding their responsibility and basing such verdicts on previous practices.

Mind you, feminism's main issue in here is that they NEVER lobbied for such biases to be fixed, in fact they lobbied for such biases, even introduced such biases in the legal system and still turn their head the other way when such biases cause public outrage, or they outright "blame patriarchy".

Funnily enough the only other case I can find where she presided was where she handed two young girls (12 and 14) over to their father’s custody after their brother killed their mother, even though they testified their father had continually beaten their mother:

Rather than just sexist bias she may be one of these absolutely useless and naively lenient judges big, hyper-liberal American cities are plagued with, who refuse to give serious sentences for serious crimes, even for men. Half the time you hear of a murder in Detroit or SF or NYC, they have dozens of prior arrests and got hardly any time for even violent crimes.

The prosecutor in the Neely case going on right now in NYC proudly recounted how she felt sympathy for a (male) crackhead who murdered an innocent man in an ATM robbery that she lowered the recommended sentence to a couple of years in the name of ‘restorative justice’. She’s ultra-feminist (her wife is an artist whose work is radical feminist nonsense) but this manifests in being pathetically lenient all around (at least when the accused is from an ‘acceptable’ minority… we’ll see in this case…). One deep issue is a belief that evil doesn’t exist and shouldn’t be deal with - ‘everyone is just a victim of the system, man’.

A legal adult lady kills her father who she calls her "best friend" and gets a year in prison. Meanwhile, the Menendez brothers who killed their horribly abusive parents are serving life in prison. Not saying the Menendez brothers should be free, but this woman definitely shouldn't be.

Because if she was under eighteen when it happened, that does explain a lighter sentence, but not a one-year sentence. Ten or twenty would be more reasonable for a minor.

She was 17. Though not officially an adult she most definitely knew what she was doing. She meant to cause him pain and harm. Did she want to kill him? That’s debatable. However, I hold her parents partially accountable for the way she was raised. However at 17 she was throwing a tantrum. He was inconsiderate to get drunk and not be able to follow through on a commitment he knew was of importance to her. however, to a hormonal, spoiled, selfish, mad, hurt, mentally unstable and possibly disturbed person this was just too much. Her switch flipped. She threw a dangerous tantrum that cost him his life.
