There’s also pervasive misandry throughout society that suppresses and demonizes efforts related to men’s rights. This contributes to a lack of understanding of how badly rigged our institutions and laws are against men until men experience it firsthand.

That’s why it’s so important that all of us help to raise awareness of and speak out against anti-male bias and discrimination whenever and wherever we can. It’s easier to fix a broken and unfair system once there’s widespread recognition of the problems.

Back in the early 60's Woman's Lib started, which is basically just Feminism. Women would come together and talk about their experiences with society in general and how men treated them, particularly their significant other. They realized there are trends, and so they basically grouped together into what they then called "The Sisterhood", and so they have a quid pro quo out look: you scratch my back, I scratch yours.

Over the years it's been handed down from each generation. They teach girls that they are amazing and that men are bad, and they teach boys that they have to "act right", that they need to watch what they say and act or get in big trouble. The big catch here is that they try not to be too direct about it, so as to not be called out. But that's obviously not always the case.

That's basically the big part of it.

Simple answer: social conditioning.

Men are conditioned to put others before themselves and not question the many hardships and problems we face. Plenty of men may not even take men’s issues all that seriously, because they have been conditioned to think that way.

Hero complexes and being white knights. As well as men not generally caring enough or just see it as an unfortunate fact of life useless to fight against.

Can't blame them though everything around them kind of nudges them to this belief. TV shows, movies, the way society is ("happy wife happy life" "don't hit girls" "be a gentleman").

Men are forced fed that men are the problems and women need uplifting (one could argue if they are so strong and independent why do they constantly need mens help but that's another discussion).

The men around them don't help either as they just see it as a fact of life you have to deal with where as with women they will try to warn women or get women to change the behaviour. I've met so many men who just say some variation of "happy wife, happy life" when asked to do something they don't want to do whereas women are rightfully told to stand up for themselves. Everyone seems to subtly center the woman even when she's wrong "women am I right?" Instead of confronting her on her behaviour they brush it under the rug even if in a patronising tone.

Women see other women as allies. Men see other men as competition or a threat. Or generally don't care.

Say what you want about women or feminists but they at least have eachothers back, I've seen men attack other men just for defending himself. Or men trying to get involved in between married peoples beef and just confront the guy.

Men are competitive towards other men. When trying to win a competition you dont help your opponents do you? If you do, you lose and they win.

This is how the male human mind works. It is biological not something we have been taught to do.

(Women compete a little too, but not in the same way or the same extent as men, which explains why women accept to share a few top men by having sex with them without commitment, while rejecting a majority of men which are not at the top. Women would rather share sex with a winner, then settle for a loser.)

There are many examples of how true it is. Men whos best friend sleeps with their wife, behind their backs. Men whos brother or sometimes even father slept with their girlfriend. Of course it does not happen every time, because it also takes the right opportunities to happen.

So how do men overcome their biological drive to see other men as competitors? By either learning is from early childhood, and by creating a culture where unfair competition with other men is punished somehow. Shame and rejection from society and lost status was the punishment in the patriarchy of old, a system that worked great.

Everyone is trying to get what you have. And woman always seek improvement of circumstance. Look at local women when group are conquered. It’s not all forced marriages. Many love the winners.

My ex wife is a very angry and jealous woman. She constantly compared me to everyone better than me in whatever arbitrary measure of success she had that day. I think it’s all due to allowing the “patriarchy” to keep us in its grasp. Even as we watch women evolve away from it, we fail to REALLY acknowledge what it’s done to us. It holds men down in many ways, making it SO important for us to live up to its definition of manhood that we find it hard to escape, for fear that we will be ridiculed, and lose any self esteem we have. And of course, the biggest way to feel worthy in all of it is through women: they validate your manhood. Plus, the patriarchy has us compete against each other for all of it; and much of that competition is unhealthy, with lying and cheating that pays off. All of that while we’ve been discouraged from accepting and understanding our emotions, so we often don’t know why, or even question why, we do this.

So, if you’re a man who has limited wherewithal to maintain the façade and hold back your subconscious stress, AND to face the direct and implied blame and shame of third wave feminism, you crack a little and despair, or you let it out in destructive ways toward the world. If you’re lucky enough to have the inner strength to keep it all going, and not give in to wholesale misogyny, you have the opportunity to bolster your esteem by rising above it all (as “real men” do), rejecting “those” men, and fulfilling the noble patriarchal image of being women’s protector.

I think men need to do a little more soul searching, and try to be more understanding of each other, reject the patriarchy in ourselves, reject the total blame for the patriarchy from them, and balance the narrative on gender equality. We are equally moral, and we have our own oppression.
