I'm asking this here because I have no idea where else to ask.

Basically, I'm looking for a place like /r/TheRedPill, except focused on broader news rather than just gender issues. I'm looking for a place where comments revolve around well reasoned analysis and debate rather than political correctness and 12 year olds circle-jerking over puns and memes. Upvotes/downvotes should be based on the content and insights that the comment brings to the table rather than terseness, political correctness, and whether or not one disagrees with the commenter's opinion.

For example, Hacker News is basically a higher quality Reddit focused on tech news. I'm looking for a Hacker News like community, except not specialized to tech.

Anybody know of any other subreddits or websites that serve as better alternatives to 90% of the cesspool that is modern-day Reddit?
