Sorry you have been duped for nine years. Your kid has two more years you can cover them unless they have some sort of a debilitating or previous condition. In those cases the 26 year cut off for dependents usually gets waived. As for your ex, talk to the lawyer, read the order, and prepare a contingency plan for an insurance fraud claim. As in, be prepared to sue her for whatever the insurance company comes after you for.

Idk how or why you’ve been paying for her health insurance. Health insurance is honestly worth more than money.

In my state she can and needs to be removed immediately using the divorce decree. No waiting for enrollment period.

Yeah, OP, you may want to look into this discretely. I read somewhere that this could be considered insurance fraud. And they will ask for the divorce decree when you remove her from your benefits and as a beneficiary.

I hope for your sake I am wrong.

But why are you still paying for her when she has a full time job with benefits?

By law, you can't really keep a non-spouse on health insurance. You may be stuck waiting for benefit election to boot her off since divorce is so old. But yes, check MSA.

Look at your MSA. Unless there is something in there ordering you to carry either one, you have two options:

ask for payment to be retained
