I’ve got one. One thing you might not expect is that it’s a hard line deal breaker for some women. Even if they’re on the fence about kids some will straight up stone wall you once they find out you can’t have kids.

I’m happy with my decision. Don’t be dumb, make sure to still wear rubbers if you’re seeing more than one person. STI’s are very much still a thing to worry about.

But once you’re consistent with someone it’s awesome not having to worry about kids. Make sure to get tested after the procedure to know you’re firing blanks and go get retested every so often. I’ve come across a few people that had their vasectomy unexpectedly reverse itself and now have kids.

I didn't want kids until I met my ex wife and now I can't imagine life without them. You're 18, you dont know anything. Anyone 30+ who's not a complete loser idiot will tell you just that. Don't do it. Save it for when you're 40 or have a couple kids, whichever comes first.

As a guy in my 40s, I can tell you a lot of women my age and even a but younger love that they dont have to worry about birth control. It has been a dealbreaker a couple times, but overall a huge net positive.

Procedure isn't a big deal, just listen when they say to take it easy for a couple weeks. I carried in about 5lbs if groceries 1.5 weeks after and aggravated that shit, doubling my recovery time. Also, go back and recheck like they want you to - it took over a year for my pipes to completely clear even though I was giving it to the old lady almost daily.

Most useful for serious relationships since avoiding STIs still require condoms. Procedure was pretty chill, sore balls for a week, then some sensitivity for another week and i was back to normal after that. It also solidified that i made the right decision. Idk it felt like a huge relief and instantly removed all the paranoia and what if scenarios when i got the procedure done when i was with my ex.

And yeah, it might indeed 'scare off' women since being a fencesitter is usually translation for "not right now" or "until i can no longer resist baby fever and societal expectations". But it works both ways, as soon as a woman mentions even the slightest hint of wanting children, i've already lost every single bit of interest in a LTR, making it easier to move on.
