Feminism is about female empowerment. Has been from the start, with many such feminist writers throughout the ages calling for female supremacy, often at the cost of men and trans communities, as is presently going on in the U.K.

The patriarchy argument is a fallacy as it assumes men in power look out for other men, which is not the case. Men tend to look out for women, and women in power tend to look out for other women.

Other than being able to bear out chests in public, men have no rights in the U.K. women do not have. While raping a man only classes as sexual assault, and raped men will still have to pay child support, as men have no way to opt out of being a parent.

Up on till recently women had a lower retirement age, while also not living as long. Men are also over punished by legal systems heavy impacting minorities and those with learning disabilities.

In the west men have been seen as sacrificial for so long, as aptly illustrated by the white feather movement.

When women have the draft, men have a right to financial abortion, rape law protects both sexes, and we have even budget for male and female domestic abuse (despite females being more likely to start domestic abuse), a position in government focusing on men’s wellbeing, and we have had a MRA prime minister, we can say we have equality.

We do not have the same protections from the start. Girls have more bodily autonomy protections from birth.

We have laws making it illegal to do any NON THERAPEUTIC genital cutting of girls, but no such laws for boys or intersex children even though the EQUAL PROTECTION CLAUSE guarantees equal protections.

I love your dedication but don't bother with the guys in here. This sub isn't even talking about men's rights it's just pure misogyny. The only thing the guys do in here is shit on women and feminism and complain 24/7 like a bunch of petulant and spoiled children. I agree with you but the young men of this subreddit are often entrenched in the alt-right pipeline and have been radicalized to be arrogantly ignorant of the world. So you won’t find any worthwhile discussion on this topic. They’re absolutely convinced that western governments operate on a feminist agenda and men are a hated and oppressed minority group. Their position is beyond reason or evidence.

You’re absolutely correct. Men suffer plenty, but it’s under the expectations and pressure applied by the patriarchy (which the young men here deny exists).
