As always women can devise B grade stories which they will insist that they are true. A tale as old as time where they lean on their ancient right to unaccountability, which is unfortunately supported by their newly gained right to speech. With great power comes great responsibility. Thinking misandry is only a response to misogyny is such a brain dead view. It allows them to think they are still the victim when spreading the same sexist hate they are raging against in the first place.

It's pure, unadulterated brain rot to say that misandry emerged only as a reaction to misogyny or it only exists online - My personal opinion is that it started the moment God used Adam’s body to make Eve. Adam gave up part of himself, got no thanks and still got punished for trusting her.

Since then, men have been sacrificing themselves for women and still being blamed for everything. Even by men who ironically can’t find sexual partners or form stable relationships.

If you don't want to bring God into all this, then one of the earliest examples of misandry in literature is Lysistrata by Aristophanes (411 BCE)

It's a Greek play where women control sex to supposedly end war. Men are portrayed as sex obsessed, foolish and war hungry. While you could call it satire or comedy, it kind of flips power dynamics & mocks men’s self control and judgment - which, by the way continues to this day in the media.
