I forgot to save it but there was one of the usual posts in the WomenInTech sub where she's complaining about the men being promoted sooner, or her not being promoted, and she says it's also due to bro culture because the guys lack a "life/work balance" and how the guys regularly work 9 to 10 hours. There are also posts there about how the men get promoted and OP doesn't and says they're duds and she's much smarter and competent and either explicitly states or implies that it's due to sexism. They also almost always talk about how they have a degree, as if that's the only thing that should be a factor, not how good of an employee they are. I was a software developer and there are many guys who love it and do it in their free time, producing what's called free and open source software, FOSS. Of all the people producing FOSS the percentage who are women is microscopic. Their job is simply for the paycheck.

Assuming her stats are true and she didn't just pull them out of her ass how many of those events or oppurtunities are welcoming of men? We're asked to make our spaces "welcoming" to women but the reverse is absolutely not true and they can and will lock men out of things if they can.

So like...when an environment is unwelcoming, openly hostile to, or outright locked out is it anywonder men would be less engaged?

She goes to work 3 nights out of the week (ER Nurse on the 7pm to 7am shift). Gets back in the morning and asks what I did while she was gone.

They quote selected facts. The internet is a much bigger source of written information that books. Cheaper also since people use it for all sorts of things today. Most of those things mentioned are luxury expenditures, i.e. not essential.

What the writer is doing is two things:

selecting only certain chosen things that women do more of and ignoring those that men do more of in order to create the false appearance that 'women do it more.'
Making women not only the frame of reference, but falsely asserting that if you don't act like a woman then you are doing something wrong.

For example, I will take the same information and make men the frame of reference. Also, I will assert that if you don't act like a man then you are doing something wrong:

Men spend less money on non-essential luxury items, and women spend more. So this means men save more money and women waste more money on luxuries.
