I HIGHLY recommend the book Splitting by Bill Eddy. You can get it on audiobook (free on Spotify) or a physical copy. I definitely recommend it and take notes.

Going to be honest here. Courts will not care one iota. Don't waste your time.

Just focus on getting 50/50 custody. Get as much of the assets as you can. And then let it go.

I recorded conversations (legal in my state) and turned them over to my lawyer. He was able to extract her contradicting herself, and basically treating me unfairly and admitting it. These were turned over to HER lawyer, and surprise surprise she backed off after hearing herself sound like a psycho. I have a lot more documented but that was all I needed to secure 50/50 custody without going to open court.

So here's the thing you may not want to hear..it depends on what is being documented because if its just some texts or "on such and such day at this ti.e she called me an asshole."

Secondly its not like physical abuse where you can have pictures and/police reports. So it really turns into a he said she said. And people can get rotten to each other when the marriage is fail8ng and it may come off as you grabbing for straws and makes you look petty. Thats just how it is....

However. If its something that is serious and detrimental... the one and only real way to prove it is your kids and you going through therapy individually were its discussed how its effecting them and you. And then get that documentation from the therapist.

At a guess, six months worth of documentation as a minimum in order to get more than 50/50. Not an expert!
