He's... seductive.

He's not frothing like many redpillers. And a lot of the times, he's not even necessarily wrong in a technical sense.

How can I put this, he follows the Jordan Peterson school of redpill misogyny.

He presents himself as a reasonable man. And his credentials as a psychologist lend him an air of credibility. Especially because he can use very big and technical sounding words.

But he does a lot of truth out of context or begging the question; where he'll assert things that don't sound bad or malicious but if you pay attention, lay the ground work for some fucked up logical conclusions. And because there are a lot of nice logical wordplay in between, you might not catch how fucked up what he is saying is.

Another problem I have with him is narrow view of relationship dynamics as the capitalistic sexual marketplace where there are leagues and tiers and relationships are essentially a capitalistic enterprise.

Look, I'm not going to pretend to lie to you that there isn't an element of that in sex and dating. You deserve love and attention in whatever form you wish, but everyone else isn't obligated to give it to you. Unfortunately, we have relatively short lives so everyone else doesn't have the luxury of waiting on you to sort yourself out to figure out if they want to take a detour in their life to give you the love that you crave. You are innately enough, but you have to develop yourself inside and out so that people can tell that you're someone worth stopping a minute for.

However, that brutal truth doesn't mean that you have to think everyone else is trying to extract and use you like capitalism does.

What people want is to be happy. And what makes happiness happen is peace of mind and autonomy.

So what makes you attractive isn't your sexual marketplace value, its your ability to foster happiness in other people's life and like I touched on, how evident it is that you have that ability. That is what makes attractive people attractive. It's more obvious that they bring happiness than average. For example, when someone is in good shape and healthy, that shows a high probability that they have the ability to take care of themselves. Or when they are more emotional intelligent and self aware. Because happiness and fulfillment is easier to achieve when you're emotionally stable instead of anxious, insecure or fearful.

So your job in dating isn't necessarily to looks max or increase your sexual market place value (though obviously they help and matter , your job in dating is make it as obvious as possible that you are someone who is skilled at finding happiness and maintaining contentment. The tricky part is everyone has different subjective ideas of what happiness entails.

That critical distinction is why there so many rich and high status people who are so obviously unhappy and miserable in unfulfilling relationships who keep getting divorced or never find a partner, they know how to be rich and/or famous but they never figured out how to be actually happy. Usually due to deep subconscious cynicism/pessimism, low self-esteem, poor relational skills and/or empathy, or all of the above.

Once you understand this critical distinction, you can be a lot less bitter about dating because you'll realize it means there's truly a lot of avenues for you to get the love you want if looks aren't in your wheelhouse. Sexual market place value is only a part of the whole picture, not the whole thing. Money, looks, status those are all visible proxies (hints/signifiers) for having the skills to be happy but they aren't the actual thing and there are a lot of invisible skills that are just as critical towards being happy.

That is the point that a lot of redpillers can't seem to accept. They obsess over the negative aspects of dating and completely disregard the positive ones.

The tricky thing with him is, sometimes, his video's are helpful.

Sometimes, they help in pointing out the foolish misconceptions that blind you from seeing some of the hard truths of dating. But I think my problem is that he takes those hard truths and uses them as an excuse to make subtly extreme assertions. You can get better sources that won't slip you down the redpill pipeline.

And that's another thing, you can tell when an influencer is redpill or redpill adjacent when your algorithm starts trying to spoon feed you other more blatantly redpill media.

I think that's the best way to characterize him: redpill adjacent, where if you're not careful, you'll get emotionally seduced into the pipeline because admittedly dating can be hard for reasons both in and out of your control, women are people for better AND for worse and sometimes some of them will and have fucked you up.

But don't fall for it.

I actually don’t mind Orion Taraban. I wouldn’t say he’s full red pill, kinda takes a more scientific / behavioural psychology approach to it.

With that being said; I always take what he says, and try to think critically about it. Don’t just accept it for the truth cause he claims to be some psychologist guru dude who has solved the puzzle.

I don't know who this person is, but the only pieces of useful advice TRP has are the following:

Be confident.
Approach women if you're interested in them.
Do what you can to make yourself physically attractive.

His message is not misogynistic. To claim he is a misogynist all these braindead commenters would need to know him. They don't. Period. Be careful with these people, you just entered another ideological cesspool.

My main two problems with him are:

He takes the transactionality of relationships too far. Yes, they are transactional and there are power dynamics at play, but he constantly undermines the role of virtues in relationships (kindness, patience, forgiveness, honesty, etc) as an attempt to promote resilience, but what he ends up achieving is promoting a mentality closer to "making relationships as transactional as they can be".

"The game doesn't run on gratitude" he claims, which is true but not the whole picture. The game absolutely runs on gratitude every now and then, also runs on forgiveness, patience, honesty and kindness at different times. It also runs on genuine attraction and it should run on this as its primary "energy source" but it is impossible for it to be the only one.

The implicit promotion of dishonesty. He has created a moral vacuum. He prescribes a mentality with subsequent actions at the same time that he advises to "not take things so seriously and have some humor about it", which in part, is his way of advising redpill guys to not outwardly signal their awareness of power dynamics and transactionality.

Guess what? You have to stand up for something and signal it in our society. Your values matter and the clearest you make them, the better you get at selecting the people around you for benefit.

His is a valid perspective in Sociology and is called "Social Exchange Theory" but he has taken it from a description of human behavior into a set of prescriptions that are at odds with many conventional beliefs/values that are critical to our current hegemonic moral framework. That means his prescriptions might seem pragmatic, but are slowly turning into an ideology that challenges conventional morality and has not been able to provide a moral framework that replaces the one being deconstructed by the Redpill movement.

You can see this if you listen to other relationship coaches, even the ones that don't acknowledge the Redpill at all, like Esther Perel. They all acknowledge to a certain degree the data products by Evolutionary Psychology and because of that, their prescriptions have a lot of similarities.

All these people understand relationships are transactional, there are power dynamics at play, attraction matters much more than we admit and love is not enough to keep a relationship going.

His work at deconstructing our conventional romantic morality has been so brilliant and persuasive, it exposes many gynocentric biases in our current moral framework that enrage men. So his work is inherently divisive, although justifiably so, but he pretends it isn't instead of providing a new moral framework based on better ethics, informed by the modern world where men and women can operate honestly and to real mutual benefit.

What does this mean for a man that adopts his framework?

You would have to be dishonest by omission. Even though you might be able to get a great relationship by doing what he says, you will have to be extremely careful with the opinions you disclose to your partner and that's not because of misogyny as so many people often misunderstand, it is because conventional morality is based on the idea of unconditional romantic love whereas Taraban's framework is based on the awareness transactionality and power dynamics, which is highly offensive to many people.

If you are comfortable with that, I have a problem with you. You should signal your values and perspective as clearly as possible for people to make an informed choice when relating to you. If your framework is truly going to make things better, then you shouldn't be secretive about it. Especially since Taraban claims his views will help men give women more of what they actually want to incentivize genuine attraction.

Can this dishonesty by omission be justified by the redpill movement's current vulnerable underground state? Could it be that the way it challenges tradcon gynocentrism and liberal gynocentrism requires a gradual implementation on wider society so that people first experience its benefits to become more receptive of its (currently) highly controversial arguments?

Only time will tell.

NONE of these people will age well. When on earth did such views become not completely embarrassing to openly express? Future historians will need this material to see how America quickly became a hell hole for women in 2026.

Also- Psy.D isn't a real degree and certainly not one that comes with a public "doctor" label. He doesn't link his thesis or peer-review published research to his channel. I have a STEM PhD from an ivy league and I'm sensible enough to not call myself Dr outside of a classroom.

he is basically the male equivalent to Sadia; both weave an underlying jadedness with dating/gender concepts with advice. He is single himself which is pretty apparent in his viewpoints. I have learned, in general, there are so many non-married in this space! Jordan Peterson and others refer to their own relationships and also faith/morals IMO it’s very different.

Really?! I would think that a channel like fresh and fit or mtr would be much more toxic and mysogynyst then Orion. I gotta be honest - I love his content. Specifically because to me it comes off more neutral. I never watch his content and get the vibe that he hates women. I think his content is more geared towards men but I think that's okay. There are plenty of female content creators on social media as well as mainstream tv that talk about their gripes with men openly and in much more toxic conviction and there's no pushback towards them. I feel the same level of amnesty should be given the other way. Imo. Idk. I love him. Mainly because his topics and perspective go very much with my life experience in general and as a man... And I don't hate women. I love em. So 🤷 idk.

I joined this group just to add my comments to this thread. A while ago, after having tried and dated more than enough women, who seemingly fit all my criteria, I realized, sadly, that they don't contribute anything substantial to my life. Sure, they can give me some good time, over dinner or the sheets but that's it. They can't help me with anything. They can't make any aspect of my life easier. They don't even make me feel seen - they appreciate my strengths and enjoy the labor of my strenghts but they don't really care for my weaknesses. Thining that somerhing was wrong with me, I let them all go. Thanks to Taraban I realized that nothing is wrong with me - it was a healthy reaction, rejecting what is not useful. And I'm not writing this to criticise anyone. I believe the truth is even more brutal than what Taraban says: there is no natural synergy in a relationship. Contrary to the common misconteption and fantasies, we are not wired for a 1:1 partnership. As much as we would love to - having a partner does NOT naturally improve the quality of our live and does not contribute to any higher-level fulfillment. On the contrary - it's an extra stress, an unnecessary burden. Unless, of course, one party has a lot of money, in which case the other one benefits but definitely not the former.

I initially thought this channel was worth watching, but I was fooled by the name. I ran into one of his videos about being the best man you can be; he made a blunt point about needing a 'spine' to stand and 'balls' to fight for what you believe in. That resonated with me, so I subscribed to 'Psych Hacks.'

However, the more I watched, the more I realized he holds an incredibly cynical and reductionist view of women. He frames everything through power dynamics, essentially arguing that women are too unintelligent to understand their own choices. I’ve known many women in my life, and that is not how they interact with the world. Honestly, he seems like a frustrated loser who wants to make others as miserable as he is. He is completely 'red-pilled,' and we should be ignoring him.

He tries to legitimize his perspective by sprinkling in psychological concepts, but it’s not true professional advice. It actually reminds me of a friend who once said they wanted to get into psychology just to 'add theories' to the world—which is not the reason to enter the field.

Any perspective or idea that you put out into the world needs to be foolproof or backed. I know there are certain theories like Freud. Erickson, Piaget, all these people that we all know about when it comes to actual psychology, this guy truly just appeals to the red pill mentality of really cynical, negative views when it comes to women and what men need to be.

He’s just another person making things more complicated and cynical than they need to be.

As a 66 year old woman who has been married for 40 years, there is nothing I agree with that Dr. Talaban says when it concerns men, women and relationships. He's totally red pill and he's both a misogynist and a misandrist at the same time. He's a scam artist with a PhD. Neither men nor women with any sanity want the opposite sex to walk all over them or to control them. He gives men the wrong advice that will totally backfire on them. I guarantee that if he's married, he isn't doing what he preaches. My husband and I are a team. We married because we have the same beliefs about life. No one is controlling the other one. That's just messed up and leads to divorce.
