Edit: this paper isn’t the kind that draws on research to disguise irrationality as rationality. Anyone can produce a faulty study, and anyone can buy into the findings of one. My goal is to make my core argument in terms of basic moral reasoning which can be neither argued against nor dismissed as failing to meet ethical standards.

When women say women have a problem, we as a society treat women as having a problem. When men say men have a problem, we as a society are writing men off as problematic; we in effect sneer at them and say ‘prove it’.

This paper uses common-knowledge history, experiential account, fundamentals of ethics, and good old-fashioned logic to dissect this attitude, and pin down exactly why it’s so toxic- something people often can’t effectively put words to.

Well the suicide rates of men have swapped from mostly older men 50yrs+ to now younger men more likely to take their own lives, is showing a stark shift in mental health issues and needs of young men.

We also need to remember boys are growing up more than ever without fathers and reducing male role models as male participation in teaching, care, child psychology, pediatric care, sports coaches is at a concerning low. There is a mentorship/male rolemodel deficit.

We also see a plethora of programmes for girls only in sports and education, grants, bursaries, mentorships increasing rapidly. While boy's programmes are either non existent or have often lost funds due to being for boys.

I think that student is projecting and doesn't want legitimate concerns for boys and men to be aired as it disrupts the victim narratives that sees billions of dollars poured into women/girl only projects. It looks like there are specific issues men face which need addressing and if feminists have a problem with them being discussed that says more about them than it does about "incels".

EDIT: it's also notable that fields like English and Philosophy are now plagued with feminist ideology. Like a multitude of areas in academia are nowadays hives of this type of group-think. Every field that is female-dominated just becomes are echo chamber of "poor oppressed mens!" style feminism.

i dont know about this angle of framing your message as a way to get people to self-improve by caring about this, it sounds good if you want people to virtue signal that they care about this, but the message should be strong enough to act on its own or else the ones receiving it simply dont care enough about it, as it seems to be the case on this issue.

I would really appreciate this paper if it explored your own experiences and perceptions of loneliness and what you believe to be its causes, and what we could potentially do about it. I have not once read a paper seriously delving into the topic written by a man who allows himself to pour the vulnerability onto paper in detail.

The paper should be focused on mens issues without a need for constant comparison to feminism or femininity womens societal standings. This is how feminist literature began and formed solidarity and cohesiveness.

We hear about the problem. We see the problems. It is there.

No one can figure this out for you. A big problem with the way people perceive the ‘male loneliness epidemic’ and the specific view of it as ‘incel revenge’ comes from a lack of cohesive narrative and messaging from individuals who try to bring it up. Some men legitimately do use the phrase to describe not having easy access to sex. I know it is not that.

Hmmm..tie together basic morality (as you've done with Aristotle & Kant (i.e. concern for others as self), and link it to male disposability. The basic numbers are irrefutable, now men as 2nd class citizens with no access to Title IX, EEO, hiring quotas, training incentives, etc. that females get.

Historically, goes off the rails with 19th century Marxist-laden post modern relativism, and caters to group identities as "more deserving." Make THEM prove capitalism or patriarchy explains why men die younger, worse health and educ outcomes, etc.

The truth behind male loneliness is banal. On average male sex drives are higher and women only truly desire a minority of men.

When men held economic power, when there wasn't reliable contraception; that didn't matter. Women had to get into relationships with men to find a breadwinner to support them and a long term partner that would stand by them when sex led to pregnancy.

Now children are optional and women have economic independence; a large minority of men find themselves obsolete. No longer able to trade economic power for sex; they are rejected by women. Women who are now only interested in the minority of men who turn them on.

Of course this new reality isn't just creating male loneliness; it is is creating a demographic crisis.

Sorry if I am making men's issues about women haha. I'll just throw in a little defence for this disdain of male loneliness epidemic

When I bring up the male loneliness epidemic all the men in my life have told me that male loneliness epidemic was not real, that they have friends, so it's fine. And then they turn around and tell me that the thing that men actually want is a romantic partner, as though a singular woman was supposed to fix the problems of a broken society. But then I read so much about the male loneliness epidemic in feminist literature. This led me to believe that this was a problem only women were talking about, that somehow it was up to feminists to fight for men while they told us "no that problem is fake, why do you even care", or even the more extreme "if most men in my life don't care, is this even a real issue?"

It's actually incredibly validating that in this corner of the internet, I'm finding men who care about men's issues
