It's good you were skeptical. This isn't normal behavior from women. Maybe it wasn't a prank, but could be a pick pocket attempt or similar. She distracts you, while an accomplice picks your pockets. The fact that she backed out when you just asked for her name seems to indicate she didn't actually want to get to know you. So that means she probably had ulterior motives.

Lol I remember in uni a French girl from one of my classes asked me how I take care of my sexual needs and that she has been sexually frustrated. It caught me so off guard I answered yes to her question of whether or not I take care of it myself and booked it out of there.

Anyways, the girl in your story could have had bad intentions or just backed off once she realized that you were weirded out. Sometimes girls do weird shit to try to save face.

I have good looking friends who get approached by girls a LOT who ask for their number and tell them they're hot etc, but i'll be honest, i've not seen it happen in the day time! (only in bars non stop etc)

So, could be sus? But who knows. Maybe she was just super social and confident but didn't like your reaction?? Do you get hit on a lot in general?

Well, try not to get caught off guard next time. Girl's reasons will still be unknown but I think you can figure out a way that deals both with it potentially being a prank or girl just being shy and awkward about approaching attractive guys first. Keep it cool, both in your mind and your body.

I think she genuinely wanted your number. But the fact that you were caught off guard. Turned her off. It showed a lack of confidence and uncertainty. She wants the guy that makes her work for it. Because that guy shows himself to have value.

She definitely wasn't trying to pick your pocket or lead you into a trap. If that were the case she wouldn't have given up so quickly.

Next time, if there is a Next time, ask her something like. Why should I give it to you? Make her work for it. Act like girls are a dime a dozen like getting girls is easy for you, And they'll treat you like a prize.
