Most of them would prefer you have your own space. Most of them would prefer you have money. How do you save money? By living at home with parents. Most girls will look past you living at home. The funny part is most of them live at home too but expect you to have your own space. The best thing you can do is not worry about it. If a girl hears you live with your parents and doesn't want to date you cause of it, i would consider that dodging a bullet. Shes rotten and let someone else deal with her.

Try living with your parents at 39 because it's the only way to save up for your own house... I do have a good job, but houses are insanely expensive, and I don't want to rent anymore. So, I moved back in with my parents after seven years of renting.

Don't bother try explaining that logic to a girl, you will lose out against any guy that has his own place, even if rent is bleeding him dry. I don't even bother dating or approaching anyone anymore.

One of the things women subconsciously want from a man is financial and physical security. If a guy can't provide for his own financial and physical security, why would he be desirable to someone looking for that? Women don't want a dependent.

I'm a woman, and I'll raise any daughters to consider why he is staying with his parents instead of immediately assuming he's incompetent.

Intergenerational living is encouraged in my family because it is the most financially wise/frugal living arrangement for all. Culturally, this works because it's expected of everyone to work, study, or otherwise actively contribute to the home while also saving money for themselves. (No slackers or freeloaders.)

For the most part, yeah, its true. Women want a man who is independent and financially secure. They don't wanna have to compete with his parents for attention or anything.

Is it true that a lot of men this day and age have checked out and don't care what some strange woman thinks? I think so. When I got married, I was staying with my mom and grandma. We moved due to lack of privacy, but I lived and breathed know that I could always come back "home" if I needed to. When we had our first place, her mom was kicked out of a home that was rightfully hers (another story), and stayed with us until about two months ago. That's only after I was ran in the ground and she then wanted her own space.

Different country here. But same financial difficulties in obtaining affordable housing (via either rent or purchase). So no, its not hard boundary. But… I would be considering what that looked like within the home. Are they (male or female) a fully fuctioning adult living in the house and contributing ? (Ie. Doing own laundry, capable of cooking etc, being part of the house like a roommate instead of a teenager). Cause one is a financial situation (saving money) and the other is a dependence situation.

That's not the way you want to impress someone. Like with property etc. However living alone and having someone over is a big plus. Rent if you need to. If and when you establish a relationship then two people have more purchasing power when it comes to buying property.

It depends on what the person values in a relationship. If they’re looking for someone who is self sufficient and able to provide, then there may be hesitation when dating someone who lives at home. Even if the rational is to save money to get a house, we’re past the point in the dating world to simply take people at their word. But not everyone is looking for the same thing. It doesn’t disqualify you from having a good and healthy relationship.

I honestly don't see what the problem is as long as the man is working and paying his half of the bills or rent cuz to be fair and logical a lot of ethnic groups that migrate to the US do the exact same thing there be two or three families in one house they put their money together and then buy the next house aside from them than before you know it they own the whole block

I would ask Why. My husband was living with his parents when I first met him. He moved back to our state a few months before, and lived at work basically. It didn't bother me. Eventually I moved out of my own house and we found a new place together, one closer to his work (he would commute an hour each way when he stayed the night), and a house we both liked. Mine was in the city, it was loud, traffic sucked, it wasn't the safest place honestly.

It's probably not a deal breaker for most women but wouldn't count in his favor. It would help greatly if the man in question were gainfully employed and had a good reason for living at home (e.g., saving money for something important or looking after a loved one) and was willing and able to move out at any time.
