Simply put "ick's are a reinterpretion of shallow and or i vein snap judgments we are all guilty of to some extent.

However the reinterpretion comes in when too many women seem proud about the type of "icks" they have as if how a man eats ice cream is anything more than a man enjoying his dessert.

The problem i find is that.

I have yet to hear a man mention it outside of having a girlfriend/wife who frequently used it. Making it a mainly woman buzzword.
The Women who use it dont see a problem in being casually toxic as the goal post is so far moved at this point.

Nah, it's just the ruler of how much offense can a given man cause to a woman, from the "not people" to the "anything goes" side of the spectrum.

Isn't it just a stupid term to say "that put me off them"?

Like I went on a date once, she was really nice but she swore excessively and that put me off. I wouldn't use the word "ick" but that's a reasonable representation of it I think.

It’s like the lesser version of red flag.

Most of the usage ive seen of it were ironic, but the people who use it unironically mostly use it as a substitute to a red flag.
