It comes from perspective. When I was a house-husband with little one I loved cleaning and enjoyed doing a thorough job etc. Since going through the meat grinder of divorce court I don’t do it anymore. I have a cleaner come, not because it’s the torturous slavery feminists claim it to be, but because I’ve not been the same since.

I’m married but I work from home. So I do most of the house chores. If your apartment is small and you’re single. It’s definitely easier as I remember when I lived in an apartment when I was single. Today I live in a house and have a toddler.

It’s not technically hard to maintain a house or even kids. What makes it hard is that it takes up time and you lose sleep often.

Enjoy the free time you have while you’re still single.

I’ve lived on my own most of my adult life and find home chores to be very easy compared home maintenance, improvement projects etc. These days modern conveniences like vacuums, dishwashers, clothing washers, etc., do most of the work.

I now have a girlfriend and often make the bed, coffee, breakfast and dishes while she’s getting ready for work. It’s no great burden.

Now, I’m sure if one has several kids, a couple in diapers, etc., then taking care of the household becomes much more work.

I’m a single dad, or was cause all my kids are off living their lives now.

It’s fairly easy. The hardest part is probably figuring out why is for dinner that is healthy, affordable, exiting and will keep everyone happy enough.

Everything else is just effective management of time, resources and personal more than anything🤷‍♂️

It depends on the set standards. Ive been in long term relationships and ive been single. If the expectation is to have a lavish meal cooked fresh everynight then its going to be exhausting. If the expectation is to have a spotless house that gets cleaned daily, its going to be exhausting.

The problem is people who set these crazy standards and then complain about being overworked. Its pretty much the meme were the guy shoves a stick into the spokes of his own bicycle.

I was married, and have three young boys, and live alone in the house I bought with my then wife, half of the time I get my kids and half I have my dog. I still have to work full time plus time to make up money, so my personal additional baggage aside

Honestly yeah it's hard for me. I love my kids more than anyone and they are what keep me going, but having three boys who all crave my attention every second I have them, it's exhausting, so when I can I'm sleeping at 7pm, and doing what I can to recharge.

Having a spouse support you while you are a stay at home Dad would be completely different imo, no worry about making enough money or providing, and feeling free to teach your kids how to be good people. Pros and cons I'm sure, but if you have a supportive partner I personally would say you'll be alright.

children tend to make a mess where you have just cleaned. it's less about the act or chore itself and more about the repetition which can lead to frustration as your efforts can feel meaningless or unappreciated when they do not last long or appear as if they were never done in the first place. most of the complaints i see by stay at home parents come down to feeling isolated or lacking adult interactions. getting out and about can depend a lot on finances, even for free activities when not all families have more than one car. as for cleaning as someone who has worked with children for many years i believe this is something they do to themselves in a sense by allowing their children to lack responsibility in cleaning up after themselves. even a barely 2 year old can clean up after themselves with the right prompting. take on the burden it becomes yours alone and you trap yourself

single dad of 4 girls (and a dog), been a remote employee since covid. lived on my own since i was 16. i keep a very clean house and yard/gardens.

house work is easy as shit. i clean my carpets at least once a month, wash all my bed clothes every week, sweep at least once a day and mop at least once a week.

if i had to go into an office it would be much harder to take care of and stay ahead but it’s nothing for me to start a load of wash or run the vacuum while on a conference call or mow the grass during lunch.

There are dubious studies out there that claim that women do 300% of the domestic work while working full time and saving the world.

There's such a thing as being technically correct while also being misleading. The famous 70 cents on the dollar claim thrown around about women getting paid less is correct in the sense that women make less than men. But they don't factor in hours worked, or the differences of relative compensation between jobs held by typical men and women.

It won't matter to women: their feelings are their reality. The internet has proved this isn't just a boomer meme. Just look at how susceptible they are to social media and other online trends. They're wired for emotion and group think. Women will say stopping illegal immigration is bad because it breaks up families (they get sad seeing the sad immigrant kids) but somehow also break up their own families with divorce (justified because her ex is a "jerk").

I assume the same nonsense is happening with chores. One thing I can say with certainty is that they cherry-pick what gets classified as a chore. Changing the oil on your car, lawn maintence, house maintenance, pest control, etc... these are all things taken care of primarily by men. I know plenty of married men, and they take care of these things almost 100% of the time...and their wives expect them to go 50-50 on the household chores.

There's an entire genre of "Mental Load" which supposes that women are constantly mentally burdened with administrating everything in family life. It's another feminist talking point which is used against men, often to justify no-fault divorce. The undertone is that men should somehow be mind readers, and do everything their wives expect of them automatically. If you had a boss like this, you would quit your job. It's toxic.

Cleaning up your house is easy as a single guy, especially if your living space is small. A family will make that job much much bigger and draining! It's worth it though!

The trick in this day and age is finding a woman who will do her part without putting you down for doing yours. One of you may truly contribute "more" than the other person. But in a strong relationship the mutual respect and love make it so you don't need to keep score.

It can come down to standards as well. Many women want their house to look like a display home 24/7 if you try for that yes it will be overwhelming. It however you accept a house that looks lived in in can be pretty easy.

I raised two boys by myself since they were in diapers.

First one was when I was 21.

House was always spotless, and it took no effort to clean.

I also let my boys play and be as messy as they wanted.

I hate helicopter moms who micromanage(abuse) their kids into never freely playing because she's too 'good' to clean up after other people, including her own kids.

Growing up my Mom did little to nothing around the house. She "cooked" chiken nuggets and fries type meals for supper and complained that she did ALL the laundry for evryone in the house.

I remember this specifically because I was the one who was in charge of folding all the laudry!! I was about 12 at the time but as I got older I figured out how easy using a laudry machine was.. So in other words, she did nothing around the house and still cmplained.. SMH

Turns out, whe you combine paid and unpaid work men and women do the same! The qhole double burden and second shift are just hoaxes

From my experience Its not that domestic chores are so difficult, the issue is that some women feel like they do everything and the man is a lazy POS do nothing. Sometimes that may be true, but I think sometimes its in their imagination. Me and my wife do not share chores. I have home chores like taking care of the lawn, home repairs, getting stuff out and into the attic, car repair, trash, I pay the bills, and I'm the single bread winner. My wife takes care of the kids and the other home chores. If you divide the chores up, everyone know what their job is and have noone but yourself to blame if you don't do what you were supposed to do. If you share chares you get a lot of "I did it last time" and "I always do everything around here!".
