I've been doing cold approaches & public convos, but I've been cheating in the sense that I first wait for something that is easy to comment on (a dog, a yoga mat, colorful outfit, something out of the ordinary) and then use the opportunity to start a conversation.

I am completely stumped how to do this naturally in a lot of less obvious situations, such as passing a woman who is dressed normally briefly on the street.

The advice I see is to start situational openers, but a lot of times, nothing really stands out to me.

I have watched cold approach videos. However, on Instagram, all I see are guys doing lines or immediate compliments, which I will start trying out if I can't think of anything better. It does seem like it works some of the time, but I have to think there is a better way. I also feel like the follow-up will be low from those.

Some of the situations where I've been stumped on how to open:

- a woman with nothing too unique or different about her to comment on (i.e. wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap)

- a woman walking towards you on the street, where you have 2-3 seconds to stop her

- a woman sitting further down the bus from you

The best thing I can think of in these situations is to just go over and say they caught my eye and I wanted to say hello or just ask how their day was, but I would like to see if there's a better way to do it.
