I don't think I have seen something like this posted here but I wanted to share my experinces with this.

I am a fan of Christian McQueens posts and writing but I have been doing this for years and it's always benefited me. Christian has some great posts on suits, pocket squares etc so I'm not going to redo these here.

I am just going to share some of the benefits and tips I have recieved from suiting up to fly.

First, you will get treated differently.

This is the key reason I do this, by showing up looking like you own the place gives you a pre-selection edge when dealing with check in lines and other things.

I have more than once walked over to the first class line with a huge line at economy and not even have the check in girl bat an eye as she passed my ticket and checked my bag. If you look like you belong in first class you will be treated this way.

I also have lost track of the times I have been upgraded to first class at the airport just by looking like you belong.

Once on the plane, read and remember the Flight attendants names, treat them like the staff of a club you have on lock, if you can, chat with them before you board. Flirt a bit, acknowledge they have a hard job, find out how much longer they have on this day.

If you have time pick up a red bull or something that is not normally on board and as you walk by and they greet you again, give it over. This is just like tipping the doorman at the club, do it right and you drink for free on the rest of the flight. Many people treat flight attendants like shit, being different here is a big deal.

This works for both male and female FA's on more than one occasion the FA has given me their number to meet up later. Standard hired gun or stripper game is a good play as they are getting bothered by thirsty guys all the time, look better and be better and you might be rewarded.

Building a professional relationship with a FA male or female can also pay off, if you fly a particular airline a lot. I befriended a male FA a few years back, every flight I would send him an email 2-3 days before and he would let who was on my flight know who I was. I often got comp'ed drinks, seat upgrade and pre-selection with the cute female FAs. If you travel a lot this can make it better than any frequent flyer program at no cost to you.

Second, you feel like a baller.

When ever I suit up, I always feel my best. I stand straighter, have more confidence and knowing that I look good puts out an energy that's hard to replicate. Having the average 8+ pockets in you suit also let's you carry many things with out taking up luggage room. I have a small inflatable pillow that fits perfectly in my right front pocket. Wrap it in your jacket once you are on board (it's getting wrinkled no matter what ,relax) and you have a damn decent pillow you can use if you are in a window seat.

Third, girls in the airport wonder who you are.

If you are dressed up on a 6:00am flight girls will actually open me wondering where and why I am flying. Day game works awesome and iDates can be done easy, if you are on a layover together, you are a better option than her iPhone. If you notice a cute girl on the flight you can also use the FA as your wing person to help you make the connection.

Try it out, you might be surprised how it goes.

TL;DR; wearing a suit and befriending flight attendents while traveling makes it a much more enjoyable experince.
