What I would consider a far bigger issue is the portrayal of male genital assault as comedy. Personally, I find the intent to sexually harm, maim or castrate men to be a significantly worse offense than rape, yet it is routinely portrayed as comedy, often even being depicted as such in children's shows/movies. Showing things like a dog chomping down on a guys crotch, a guy getting kicked really hard, a guy falling on a rail, nut shots, a projectile aimed at a man's genitals, etc. This seems like such a common trend of not just violence against men(pretty sure you would have a hard time finding a movie that doesn't depict violence against men in some capacity) but sexual violence against men(often even with an implication of permanent damage) being depicted as acceptable, funny or deserved.

The forgettable Adam Sandler flop "That's My Boy" where the entire plot of the movie revolves around a hot young female teacher raping her even younger male student and he ends up having to support the child when she goes to jail.

There's a scene if How I Met Your Mother (I forgot which episode) where an older woman basically coerces Barney's gay brother into having sex with her in order to help her and it's played off like a joke. It's fucked up.

(And yes before anyone says this, I post in SRS but I'm not trolling or anything and I totally agree with the OP).

There's a Boondocks episode based upon the potential of Tom being raped. He goes to a prison and is nearly raped and it's a comedy show.

I absolutely love the boondocks but that episode was just distasteful and awful.

There's a scene in the movie "Super" (starring Rainn Willson and Ellen Page) where she rapes him against his will, and it's totally done for laughs. Then, another scene later on, with a male on female rape, that's portrayed as the awful thing that it is. Hope that helps.
