Why do men get so upset about circumcision? I am a circumcised male and if given the choice when I was born to be circumcised or not I would tell my parents to do it.

Not all of us are cut the same. A big downside to circumcision at birth is that the doctors have no idea how much skin to cut. There's no way to know what size and shape the penis will grow to be. Some of us have such a "tight" cut that there is no moveable skin on the shaft and we need lube for masturbation. Some have more scarring, some had to have multiple surgeries because it wasn't done cleanly the first time. We don't hear about these things because it's fucking humiliating to talk about. It's painful to even think about because it can't be fixed.

The solution is so easy: let men volunteer to be circumcised instead of cutting children who have no say in the matter. If the circumcision surgery is too painful for men, then clearly the "benefits outweigh the risks" is false to them. Children feel pain just as much as adults, and there's no excuse to inflict that kind of pain on a child for optional cosmetic surgery.

Here's the crux of the issue. Infant boys can't chose. Personally I would have rather been able to make the decusion about my own body. If you think you like being circumcised, that's just fine. We shouldnt be cutting our little boys. Let them decide that for themselves once they are old enough to consent. I'm not even going to try to argue about whether its genital mutilation. It absolutely is.

She has no problem with it, and considers it part of her culture. Maybe she thinks it's cleaner as well - and also she can "last longer" as she has had her external glans clitoris removed.

Men from her culture also find it more attractive if a woman is circumcised.

But she made the choice as an adult.

That's all that's being asked here: If you want to go ahead and chop off parts of your body, well fine, go right ahead once you are an adult.

But it's the sexual abuse of unconsenting infants that is objectionable.

First of all, it negatively effects your life in many ways. A brief look at the scientific literature will tell you that.

Plus, we don't bind women's feet because men prefer that.

It is totally nonsensical for you to wish for less sensation in your genitals. Sick even. And Male Genital Mutilation increases erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.

Men consider it such a terrible thing because it is literally the mutilation of childrens's genitals. There isn't that much more to say about it.

And no, you wouldn't ask your parents to have it done. Besides religion and extremely rare health cases no intact man gets circumcised after a few days old.

The most disturbing part of this, to me, is how you justify your own forced genital mutilation because some women (who’ve probably only been with cut men) prefer it. Do yourself a favour- if you really care more about some woman’s preference than your own human rights- don’t read descriptions by women who’ve been with both- specifically with regard to how a normal penis feels when contrasted with a cut one.

I'm against it for the same reason I'm against doing appendectomies on infants. Unless there is an actual medical reason, you should not remove part of someone's body without their consent. Once someone is old enough to make the decision on their own I have no problem with it.

I somewhat agree with you for the fact that I'm circumcised as well and I've never had any medical problems or had really any problem feeling pleasure. But I think the issue here is that it's doing something permanent to your body without your permission. You said if you had the choice at birth you'd still be circumcised; I would be too. But that doesn't mean that you should get to make that choice for anyone else.

mainly its the fact of actually being given the choice.

personally im thinking of not havig it done to any potential son and just give them the option to do it if and when they decide for themselves. even if they are young like 6 and say they want it done to look like most other peoples, i would just have it done then. atleast then its their choice.

In the US. In Europe they don't give a shit and it might even be the other way round. It's culture that's it. What do you think are women going to do if you ban infant circumcision?

The fact that i am slightly desensitized (and I do mean slightly) means that i can go longer than uncircumcised men.

I'm not desperate enough to consider having myself permanently mutilated to please women. They can keep their disgusting, twisted circumfetishism for all I care. And of course you don't feel negatively about your sex life because you don't know any better, unless there are "sex with foreskin simulators" I do not know of.
