He updated that they're talking divorce now. So, ironically, him freaking out about her stashing 10 percent of her income (when she comes from an abusive past) is now going to cost him a LOT more than the original 25k.

They can say she lied but I see it as self preservation. The fact that there's people saying, straight up, that women still do it for the obvious inequality shows that more and more people are becoming aware about why we do it in the first place.

Edit 2: She texted me with some uncomfortable news. She thinks our relationship can’t work because she feels I’m “abusive”. I’m not going to update anymore.

Good for her! idk if this is the first warning sign from him she's had, but if she was saving money specifically in case he turned out abusive then she's likely been through this before and now she's uncompromising when it comes to her safety. What an absolute role model.

Anyone who would fault a woman for secretly squirreling away an escape fund in case her partner turns out to be abusive is being intentionally, painfully obtuse. How could anyone read about a woman feeling the need to do that and not be horrified by what she's probably experienced? So many women in the comments came to her defense, saying they secretly save as well out of necessity for their own safety, yet no men seemed horrified to learn this is COMMON and that it's very telling of the sort of society we're living in.

Men are mad that their girlfriends/wives would "lie" (i.e. keep potentially life saving information secret). Women are trying to not be murdered by their significant other. That's the world we're living in.

4 years of 10% is not 40%, math doesn't work like that you fucking abusive prick of a penis. I'm glad they're getting divorced.

Just so everyone doesn't get fooled by this fucking male logic. If you save 10k a year, 10% is 1k. So 4 years of savings is 4x1k which is 4k. Meanwhile 40% of 40k is 16k. See how his fucking stupid math will gain him additional 12k (400%, 400 fucking percent more than he deserves) just by bullshitting math formula out of his ass?

Oh but it gets better, he wants 40% out of JOINT SAVINGS, not HIS SAVINGS, so he wants her 10% portion too. So if they both save 20k a year for 4 years, it would be 80k. 40% of 80k is 32 FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS.

HE WANTS TO ROB HER 800% OF WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE. THIS GUY IS A GRADE S FUCKING ABUSIVE GOLD DIGGER.
