Nope. Just supply informed consent.

Something as simple as "I'm trying to find the one" is enough.

It States no exclusivity, and doesn't say she's your best choice. It also implies lots of competition.

If she asks more directly, then answer with "I need to test the waters first."

Those two lines have worked for me for over a decade.

She knows what's up, her decisions are on her, with plausible deniability.

Short answer: You shouldn't.

Long answer: For millions of years humans had sex without contraceptives and woman could end up knocked out by having sex with a guy. Sex carried far greater risk and cost for a woman than for a man. So... man kinda needed to pay back for that sex. And he would pay with a relationship. A promise that he would take care of the woman and their kids.

In the modern age of contraceptives the story is entirely different. Sex has low risks and costs for her. She is enjoying sex as much as you do (I hope). Relationship on the other hand is highly costly for you, marriage is super-costly to you.

So why would you award something that costs her so little with something that costs you so much.

In modern times things are different. It's "sex first, than maybe a relationship": In exchange for sex she get's a opportunity to tie you down.
