I'm beyond words on what to say. First off, this confirms a few RP insights which are:

  • Women are controlled by emotion far more than logic

  • Women are group thinkers and are totally consumed with how they appear in front of each other, insomuch that it drives this girl to sedate her boyfriend with alcohol and then chop off his hair while he's asleep because it "humiliates her".

  • The clearly NOT manly NOT alpha boyfriend decides to take her back after all of this. Complete lack of respect for himself and totally reneging on all the qualities he pretended he had in the original post.

Here are the key points of the original post:

My girlfriend liked me, but as soon as we started seriously dating, she began to complain about my hair. "Oh it's too long, you'd look so much hotter with a nice stylish haircut!" I told her she was wrong, *that real men don't cut their hair*, but she insisted until I told her to shut up about it.

Two days ago one of her friends saw me walking to the subway station and I said hi to her. A few hours later I suddenly get a call from my girlfriend. She's hysterical, crying and screaming at me. She tells me I humiliated her in front of her friends by publicly wearing my hair in a ponytail.

She's angry, I try to calm her down, but she just starts screaming into the phone like a little child, until her mom walked into her room and they got into an argument over the noise and she hung up on me.

I woke up today. I immediately noticed something was wrong. My girlfriend was nowhere to find. I also noticed to my shock my ponytail was missing. She had left a note on the door of my room, saying that she's sorry, but that "this was really the best option".

I really don't know what to do now, I fear this relationship is doomed.

The OP then brings us an update hours later about how he held frame and kicked the sloot out the door. Just kidding. He broke down crying, took her back, and has decided to never see his friends again until his hair grows back (or he figures out how to glue it back on).

Thanks to everyone for all your responses. I see most of you telling me to dump her. However, although I respect your opinions, we both have a lot invested in this relationship. We have a long and intense history together and she's not just my girlfriend, she's also my best friend. These are things that I think are somewhat difficult to judge without knowing the context.

Woman as your best friend? Horrible mistake, and here's why. You develop sickening onetis and the friendship is horribly onesided (as is the relationship that becomes of that friendship).

I've tried to explain numerous times how important my ponytail is to me. I told her today that I basically just broke down crying as soon as I noticed my ponytail was missing. She apologized again, she was kind of shocked as she's never seen my cry in person.

I decided I have to forgive her. Personally, I'm now dealing with a new problem, namely, what to do with my hair. It's still my hair. Before she called I found the hair she cut off in my bin. She cut my ponytail off in one piece, so I'm happy to say that the hair itself is still intact. I'm really not a hair expert and I wonder if it's possible to simply glue hair back onto your real hair, or make some sort of hair extensions out of your own hair.

I explained to her that by cutting off my hair, she humiliated me too, when I meet my metal buddies again. By having hair long enough to put into a ponytail, it basically shows to other guys that I've been into metal for quite some time now. It also shows that I'm not a poser, who looks like a metalhead at a concert but dresses like a regular Joe when I go somewhere else. If I tell my friends I cut it off, they'll think I was a poser all along. If I tell them my girlfriend cut it off, they'll laugh at me and call me a pussy or something. My only real option seems to be not meeting them until I manage to get long hair again, but I don't know how to do that.

All hope is lost.
