So its gotten to the point where I really love going to the gym. I can tell my wife has reacted to my lifting in a very good way, and has started going regularly herself.

But my whole dirt bike hobby bit me last weekend. Had a crash over a downhill jump and broke my collar bone. I'm having surgery the 22nd and it will be about 12 weeks before I'm fully healed and cleared to lift hard again. Its a bummer because I've been making good gains. I hope to not lose all the ground I've made up over the last year.

The plan is to maintain everything that I can. Maybe go back and do some re-reading with my free time. Maintaining frame will be super important now. Its just another scar to me.

My wife took me to the ER. Both my Doctor and one of the nurses told her how tough I was. No wincing in pain, no complaining, no moaning. They told her how painful of a break it was and that most guys with this break acted like kids.

Plus its a story to tell, we don't get ahead in life by being safe all the time. She's not once said anything about stopping riding.

The point of the post is the encourage guys to keep on keeping on. But to also get some insight on how to redirect my energy for the time being.

You can let life derail your goals, or use it as an opportunity to see things in a different light.
