For background, I've read all the sidebar materials with the exception of WISNIFG, which I just picked up today. The reason I turned to MRP is because my sex life is pretty miserable. Until recently we maybe had sex once a week to once every other week. I honestly cannot remember the last time she initiated sex; it is always me trying for it, and even when she puts out it's clear she thinks of it as a chore. She enjoys it once she's into it, but there's always that bit of resistance followed by reluctant agreement.

I get that she does not feel any sexual desire for me and is not attracted to me. That is on me 100%. So I've started lifting, doing cardio and dieting to lose the weight. For reference, I am 5'10" and weight about 235 lbs... it has gotten pretty bad. It will probably take me a year+ to get down to where I want to be.

I know it is unreasonable to expect my wife to be attracted to me the way I am now, but knowing that she has no desire for me has really had an impact on my own desire for sex. I have essentially stopped initiating and, surprise surprise, the sex has completely stopped. I figured she might eventually even ask why I haven't initiated, but it's like she doesn't care at all.

I know it shouldn't, but I have gotten so angry about this lately -- I'm not even sure what I am angry about since AWALT (not going to initiate sex with someone she isn't attracted to).

Rereading what I wrote, this just seems like a pathetic whine-fest and I am tempted to delete this whole post. But I think I will get some value out of hearing that from the community.

My path forward is to continue losing weight and lift. Up my SMV. Eventually there will come a point when I am an attractive man again.

In the meantime I think I need to get over the fact that my wife isn't attracted to me and is probably simply relieved that I haven't initiated sex in weeks. Do I let her be relieved or do I force myself to initiate even though right now all I feel for her is disgust at her being AWALT?
