So I found TRP about a week ago and have since made moves towards self improvement. I realized my father was a BB and has happily passed those traits on to me. Luckily I'm only 24, but I am in a LTR of 4 years and don't seem to get any respect from my woman these days. Granted I know it's my fault, calling at all hours of the day, giving her what she wants, doing things for her, but I'm done with that. It's only been a week, but I've been going to the gym regularly and have made it a point to talk to 1 or 2 random strangers a day. I've also started working harder on my ventures outside of work and not taking the GF's bullshit. The one problem I am struggling with is the rate of change in my relationship dynamic with my GF. I stopped the texting during work/personal time and I (sort of) started passing her shit tests. This may be the BB in me talking, but is there a way to change this dynamic without being too stoic/uncaring? All in all she isn't a bad woman, but after letting her step on me for so long, I feel like a married man but with the hope that things will turn around once I start gaining more confidence in myself, but don't want to lose her because of a sudden personality shift. I can already see our dynamic changing, but how do I stop myself from going to far to the point where I don't recognize myself anymore? Is this just a Beta attitude? I am naturally a nice guy, and want to maintain that kind of rep, but I also want to be someone who doesn't take shit, and take my own dreams and aspirations seriously.

One thing I'd like to note is that once I stopped asking for sex and started taking it, she's become more willing to let me do what I wanted rather than telling me she isn't in the mood or too tired. Calling me more, contacting me first now, it's really amazing how things turned around so quickly in such a short time vs us trying to "work it out". Still haven't solved the dead fish problem though...
