This is similar to the STFU rule. It's the beginning strategy, you can unwind it to other areas if you feel it is an improvement to the dynamic. Just don't gush over txt, don't write diatribes, don't engage on any argument, don't do anything serious over txt.

Go ahead and flirt. Every once in a while give her a treat of engagement if it's coming from an independent place and not some sense if fear or eagerness to please or other faggoty mental shit.

With my wife, I have a balance that works well. I cut off most contact and most responses to text. Then I added a bit more in because I wanted to experiment and it led to improvements in her wanting to please me. So I found the right balance for her.

Shit's not a manual. Find what works for your dynamic.

The problem with excessive texting is that you remain in her frame. I'll bet if you are honest with yourself, these things hold true:

you text her more than her you
you await her responses to your texts
you take accountability for her feels
you seek validation in various forms

Once you free yourself of the burden of wasting your time texting, you see it for what it is. Even when texting other people you should seek to keep them more logistical based.

Unless I can tell it is a logistical question or matter I only communicate back with my wife via emoji.

It is a fun game, lets her hamster fill in the blanks, and if needed I have text game to fall back on.

Text is great for things like times and dates. We all tend to look at it before sending, and it stays there for the recipient to refer back to later. Logistics, see?

Text is fucking shit for subtle shifts in voice tone, innuendo and facial expressions which serve to add spirit to interpersonal communication and build rapport.

To my knowledge, the only people adept at communicating all of that good stuff via text are teenage girls. Even then, it takes like 150 texts full of indecipherable abbreviations and emojis to convey the content of a 3 minute conversation in person. IMVHO I conclude that awesome text game must only be worthwhile for paedo's.

Text is for logistics only. There are some schools that advocate "text game" but we are overwhelmingly against it on MRP.

Probably not for an experienced Iphoner Millennial type but there is almost no benefit us old guys have been able to discern.

At a minimum the 2/3 rule is always in effect.

I keep my texting to logistics.

She used to use text for gushing her feelings to me and I used to respond. She used to try to argue (I'm not trying to argue, she says) and I used to take the bait.

I was also ready to divorce 3 years ago.

Nowadays I don't hear a peep from my wife over text unless it is logistics (she defaults to this now and I never told her to do it.)

Unless it NEEDS an answer, I don't answer; basically only questions get answered, and only if they are:

to secure logistics/scheduling for kids and family stuff.
sexual in nature.

Last week she had started her period and she was starting a cold and had gotten in bed earlier than usual. I wasn't aware of either thing starting before hand. I walked in some 20 minutes or so minutes later to start escalating and pulled the covers down She was like a dead starfish in her response to me. I just stopped, left the covers where they were and walked away.

The next day I got a, "I'm sorry about last night I started my period and a cold."

She wanted am it's alright or I understand or something else in the vein of making her feel better.

No. she is trying to use the texting as a way to escape actually confronting me about rejection -to be clear: my only real issue was her response, or lack thereof, not her period or the cold.

Ladies reading: there are ways to reject sex without just being a cold bitch fish about it.

A few minutes later she said, "tonight you can teach me some hand stuff."

My response was, "k".

I could have sent any number of things. But "k" was the only response to about 20 words from her. Responding otherwise wasn't going to get me sex now. Responding otherwise wasn't going to suddenly make her horny to leave work and come home (while being on her period with a cold.) Responding otherwise would net me NO GAIN.

Not engaging over text means she has to actually engage you physically and verbally. Text game isn't really a thing unless it is purely for setting up sex.

And even that's still logistics.
