In my mind, I always fail this and need help. Will be sitting at the dinner table and I will ask one of the teen boys do something, such as put away your phone. (just an example I can remember maybe). My wife will say, how can you tell him that when you bring your phone to the table all the time. Point one for her. I usually just look at her (STFU), as any previous verbal responses have been failures, such as "I'm their father, and they should listen to me", or "Can you be an adult and support me in parenting?" Usually, no more conversation happens we just go on with other conversation, occasionally, she will say something more. Even before my recent taking of the redpill, I knew my manhood was being shit canned when this happened but am unable to craft an appropriate frame. - edit for typo
